Dr. Nassim Razzak Karimi, MD

She was intent on a colonoscopy from the start, which is fine, but I would have liked her to ask what medications had been tried before and what my current diet looked like. She mentioned a medication in the appointment, but then prescribed another, one that I had tried for a year prior with no difference. Her assistant via messaging then asked if I wanted to try the medication she suggested and I says yes, absolutely. I haven’t heard back again, so I’ll send another message. She seemed in a terrible rush, probably fine if it was a follow up appointment, but I was a new patient and had been waiting many months for this appointment, hoping that she could figure out why I was in pain and with intestinal distress. I’ll continue with her, because I feel I have no choice, but I don’t have a lot of faith in her at this point. Address the patient concerns first, then address your own, the opposite does not inspire confidence in your abilities.

I love Dr. Karimi. I was her patient from Evergreen. So happy to have found her. She is very caring and and an excellent Doctor

I have been seeing Dr. Karimi for a couple of years now. I have found her to be friendly and informative. She is incredibly smart!! And I really like her receptionist Elena. She is very friendly and talkative. I have never had to wait on Dr. Karimi. Appointment time or earlier. I will continue to see her until she retires lol Fantastic Dr and office staff!!

I have been seeing doctor Karimi for more than 5 years, she was the only one willing to explore options with me beyond a surgery. She always provides me with information and details about the possible treatment.

Nassim is an anti-pot crusader who, after showing a creepy level of interest in the details of childhood sexual abuse and accusing my deceased father (who was a good man) of being involved, insisted that my GI problems were all in my head and that I should see a psychiatrist. If she'd looked at my records, she would know that I already do. Then, she insisted that medical marijuana use was what had caused my symptoms, when in fact, the symptoms occurred prior to my use of mmj, which helps me cope with the nausea and lack of appetite that has caused me to be extremely underweight. And even thought I have scar tissue from endometriosis, IBS, and several other GI symptoms that make eating a painful proposition, she called me anorexic. I had to beg her to schedule the diagnostic procedure that my doctor, my surgeon and three ER doctors recommended I get. But given the panic attack her ignorance and personal issues had caused me, I realized I was not comfortable letting her sedate me and… perform a delicate procedure on my butt. Because of her I will have to wait months to get answers as to why digestion is so excruciatingly painful a process for me. She did more harm than good.

My exam with this doctor was very short. She told me I had a certain condition based on simply pushing on my stomach and speaking to me. I was prescribed medication and told if that didn't work it was probably something else unrelated to digestion. Not very comforting, especially since no tests were ordered at all. I saw another doctor shortly after who sent me for a liver ultrasound and then an MRI. Lesions and fatty deposits were found on my liver and now I'll be seeing a liver specialist. I originally saw this doctor based on positive reviews of others, but my experience was unfortunately not similar. I would go to UW - much better care.

Insightful. Early detection from an expert eye. I am glad that my PCP referred me to Dr. Karimi. Her expert eye noticed that I needed more than the regular colonoscopy. She strongly suggested that I should also have the endoscopy, as my history of med use showed something else than GERD. After the two procedures, colonoscopy was okay. However, the endoscopy results showed tumors that turned out to be cancerous. She facilitated the referrals and my appointments for the series of screening: the CT, the PET scan, the ultrasound-driven biopsy. She made the extra calls to calls to these services including with the surgeon who did the partial gastrectomy. I am now on chemo treatment. Dr. Karimi, to me is my guardian angel on earth.
