Dr. Natalia Eisenberg, MD

I have seen Dr. Eisenberg for many years. I tried a couple of different therapist before I found her; the first was a psychiatrist who was eager to dole out prescription medications but otherwise seemed uninterested. The second told me he had only recently received his board certification, and then failed to show up to our second appointment; his assistant called him, and he said "Sorry dude, I totally forgot about our appointment. I had to roll into Baltimore...wanna reschedule?" It was bizarre, and I dreaded trying therapy again after that, but I felt I needed help. I was in a dire emotional state when I first saw Dr. Eisenberg. She listened carefully, and was also straightforward in sharing that she felt I should be medicated (which I did not want to be) and why. I listened to her and I followed her treatment plan. Many years later, I have chosen to continue to see Dr. Eisenberg regularly because of the benefit she has had on my life. I discontinued all medications years ago.… I have resolved some situational causes of anxiety and depression, and I have learned to manage anxiety and to maintain a more objective and less catastrophic point of view. My experience with Dr. Eisenberg is that she always communicates proactively and clearly, she listens carefully, she has a decidedly medical perspective and explains physiological bases for certain emotional reactions, etc., in a way that has helped me to gain greater objectivity. She is straightforward and no-nonsense, and I appreciate it greatly. I have benefited from it greatly. I wrote this review because I saw that one patient had rated Dr. Eisenberg and gave her a one-star rating for vague reasons, calling her names that are entirely contrary to my many years of interactions with this doctor. My experience has been that she is utterly professional, reasonable, direct but kind, highly knowledgeable as any doctor of this sort must be, and caring. I would not recommend her for patients who are not interested in taking active steps to improve their mental health and well being, or who are unusually sensitive to constructive criticism or who are avoidant of introspection. I can imagine that certain people who might prefer to be coddled might take offense to some of this doctor's reflections, but for this patient, her guidance has been a tremendous benefit. I don't believe that I need psychiatric intervention any longer, and I certainly could choose to see a non-psychiatrist for counseling, but I have chosen to continue working with Dr. Eisenberg because I have had so many epiphanies and moments of self-realization through our conversations, and I do recommend her to people who want to find greater contentment and who are willing to work toward making their lives better.

Fired her as she jeopardized my mental and physical well being. Greedy bull in a china shop!
