Dr. Natalia A Kayloe, MD

I cannot even begin to put 13 years down on paper. Dr. Kaylou presented into my life when I was only 32 years old due to a cranial AVM rupture. From the first time I meet her in 2006, her presence has always been a positive encounter. She continues to be my neurologist even though I now reside in Texas. I have since moved on to Austin, TX and I continue to fly and see Dr. Kaylou all the way to Virginia. Dr. Kaylou is truly one of a kind. I have worked side by side many physicians and specialists due to my occupation. Her professional demeanor is one that all physicians should take notice and adopt because she truly listens to your concerns and answers your questions. I highly recommend Dr. Kaylou to anybody needing a neurologist. She is by far the best neurologist I have ever encountered.

I found out more about what was going on and wanted to follow up on my previous review. First of all, I found out that the Dr's office had called in the prescription for me, but my pharmacy applied the prescription to the wrong account. I had to work with both the pharmacy and the Dr's office to get the prescription straightened out, but the Dr's office was very helpful, so I want to increase my review from 1 star to 4 stars. I also learned that you can't leave a message for the doctor after 5 PM because the voice mail system blocks access to the Dr's voice mail, so you have to call back during business hours. They do have a patient portal, but you can't sign up for it without talking to the practice during business hours, so you can't just go and leave a message for the doctor that way unless you make arrangements in advance either. That is why they only get 4 stars from me.

Dr. Kayloe is fine and has been helping me with my migraine headaches for several years. However, it is impossible to get prescription refills from her office. I leave messages on their voice mail repeatedly to get the prescriptions filled and they are never called into the pharmacy and they never call me to indicate that there is a problem. My problem is not with the doctor but with the office staff that does not perform prescription refills and acts as a filter blocking access to the doctor. You cannot call or email the doctor directly to report the problem with getting a prescription refilled.

The two visits with Dr. Kayloe have been positive and helpful. She is a clear communicator and easy to talk to. She has been good with concrete suggestions for improving my health. Lindsey has also been helpful in working with my protocol.

Dr. kayloe always has a smile on her face. An insincere one. It was plastered there when she came in and told me I would get better. She smiled as she later found out she misdiagnosed me but I would still get better. And she still has a smile saying not to worry I would get better months later while giving me no detailed explanation for why certain tests were done nor the exact results while I still suffered symptoms. She is one to just nod and tell you the least amount of information possible before leaving the room. I have been to enough doctors to know who may be a better doctor but have terrible bedside manner. She had neither. My suggestion would be to smile less to placate the patient and talk more.

This was my first visit with her when I went in to discuss my health concern that I have been experiencing for over a decade. She spent a majority of her time entering all my health info into her laptop while I sat on the exam table for 30 minutes. She did not asked much questions. And when I asked questions or told her my concerns she was very dismissive. After very little conversation, she decided to prescribe me medication that had nothing to do with what I came in for. But she assured me that even though the meds were for depression it can be used for other purposes. She even told me that I was wrong in thinking that I have migraines. But I had 2 other doctors throughout my time being their patient who spent more time talking to me and both tell me that I am experiencing migraines. Then they decided to prescribe medication after asking a lot of relevant questions and question with substance as well as listening to my experiences and symptoms.

I found Dr. Kayloe through reviews and that she was well-rated by other doctors in Washington Checkbook. She is thorough and a delight to work with. I saw her twice in short order on two different matters, once for muscle twitching and numbness and then to review a diagnostic screening for a family medical condition. In the first instance, she asked questions and listened carefully, in addition to performing a complete exam. In the second situation, she showed me the images and answered my questions. The good news is that neither situation required follow-up. But if I needed anything, I know I would get caring, skilled help from Dr. Kayloe.

Dr Kayloe is an amazing doctor. As everyone else has said, her bedside manner isn't great but.. What do you really want? A great doctor with poor bedside manner, or a okay doctor with great bedside manner? I have been through so many specialists and tests and i've found that it's really one or the other and Cmon guys this isn't a hard decision. She's the best neurologist i've found, and i've seen several others at this point. She has found things the others missed, and was way more through with taking everything in my life into account (meds, bipolar). Since waiting room seems to matter on this site, her staff are all insanely nice and they have comfy chairs, a little relaxing waterfall thing, a water cooler, and a Keurig machine. I am not sure what else you could ask for in a waiting room.
