Dr. Natalie Vaccari Furlong, DO

Dr Furlokg is miserable and so is her PA. They walk into the room without greeting you and they go straight to staring at their computer. Don’t waste your time on rude, unprofessional people. Dr Furlokg and her PA Karen both need serious attitude adjustments.

Canceled a pertinent test to my health without seeing me, speaking to me, or even reviewing my health story. Had this test scheduled for 3 weeks and it was canceled the day before without any time to defend the necessity.

Where shall I start? I have known Dr. Furlong for many years and referred my parents to this group several years ago when they needed a family doctor. My mother initially treated with Dr. Chopra who left the practice. She then decided to start treating with Dr. Furlong. My mother has been seeing her for about a year. My mom would always came home after her appointments and report to me that Dr. Furlong seemed like she never reviewed any of her medical information prior to walking into the exam room. My mother has a very complex medical conditions and does treat with specialists but needs to have a family physician for other less complex conditions and also order medications. I was very disturbed when I spoke with my mother today and she reported she saw Dr. Furlong for a routine check-up yesterday. She states Dr. Furlong came in the room and without asking how my mother was doing, she spoke very loudly and stated "I guess you will not be getting a flu shot, bone density test or… colonscopy. You should just cancel your health insurance and stop seeing me." My mother was very shocked at how she was being spoken to and she states the medical assistant in the exam room just had her head down appearing shocked at Dr. Furlong's behavior. My mother told her she was not having the flu shot or testing done. My mother is 77 years old and has a right to decide what treatment she wants. Dr. Furlong told her she would no longer prescribe her the pain medication that my mother needs for her chronic condition, which she takes 0-2 pills per day. I am not sure what is wrong with Dr. Furlong, was it just a bad day? Is she getting pressure from the insurance or medical practice to get her patients to get the flu shot and preventative testing? At this point I really don't care. I am a nurse and if I treated patients that way I would be fired. Her behavior is unexcusable and she should not be allowed to treat patients this way. Physicians take an ethical oath and it would appear Dr. Furlong does not abide by this. As I am in the medical field I will make sure I get the word out to not treat with Dr. Furlong unless you want to be berated when you are paying her!

I've been seeing Dr. Furlong since she started with South Hills Family Medicine. I've moved out of the area, but continue to come back to see her. She is a wonderful doctor with excellent patient relation skills. I can't say enough about how great she is and the practice is.

Dr Furlong is the perfect balance of professional physician and trusted friend.

My doctor was not there that day, so unfortunately I saw Dr. Furlong. Worst misteak ever. In my opinion, she is a horrible doctor. She does NOT listen, she goes ahead and decides whats wrong with you and ships you off for treatment before even doing the most basic of testing. Then, when it turns out that she was completely wrong and the treatment was not good for you, she doesnt even have the decency to respond to you about her error. Guess her huge ego got in the way of that. I would never reccomend this woman to anyone.

Dr. Furlong is a very caring doctor. She spends time with her patients and you receive quality care. her office is also very technologically advanced and you can access all your records via their web portal.

Fulfills my expectations of what a doctor should be. Takes her time, asks questions, and is not too quick to simply write prescriptions if a problem can be worked out without it. Lets you participate in your healthcare. Has a very humble, yet confident bedside manner.

I don't know how this office and staff received a 5 star rating. These doctors do not take the initiative to get to know their patients. They do not work with the patient, always refer out to specialists because they do not want to take any accountability. Horrible staff, they are nasty. Dr. Chopra is terrible also. Will not ever go back to them and have told others not to either!

Thank you for being such a wonderful doctor. I had a chance to be in your waiting room and hear others speak of their confidence of your medical care. You are so busy but never make me feel like I am taking up to much of your time. Your office support team always greet me with a smile and seem to be genuinely happy to be at work.
