Dr. Natalie Lama Monticciolo

I have heard recently that the practice that I went to- Prestige Dermatology in New Port Richey, FL- for my care no longer exists, and I am very happy about that. I had quite the displeasure of meeting Mrs. Monticciolo, as she seemed to mock my mother, her employee by the name of Molly became angry when I wanted to read what I was signing, along with most everything that I said to her, and she sent me a letter that stated that I am not allowed to come back to her for care. I wanted to write a review sooner, as to warn future patients of this behavior, but I noticed that I had to give at least one star, and I found that that was too much credit to give to her. Luckily, her practice no longer exists. Monticciolo also recommended treatments and products that other dermatologists never recommended to me, and through the medical literature that I read regarding skin health, I have not seen recommended either. When I go to the doctor, I would prefer to read something before I sign it instead… of having someone tell me what it says, not mock me for the amount of time it takes me to read, not mock me for not knowing the exact milligram percentage of every medicine I am taking, not question my life choices and asking what is wrong with me, and not mock my mother for asking questions. Perhaps this is too much to ask for her and her staff, so therefore, changes have to be made. Of course, there is a slim chance that these people will change on their own, so administrative action can be taken, which it seems it has been taken. Therefore, I am able to give the one star rating.

I couldn’t believe the spot growing on my nose could be a cancer. I am Spanish and didn’t think skin cancer could happen to me. I went to see Dr. Monticciolo and had a biopsy. She said to have the surgery and it would have a lower chance of recurring. I was extremely nervous on the day of the procedure, but she walked me through what to expect at each step. It took two times to get the margins clear but she was able to get all the cancer out, thank God. There wasn’t enough skin so she wasn’t able to stitch it in a straight line. I was so scared it wouldn’t heal and everyone would see a horrible scar on my face. She told me that she would take care of me. It took time but she took such great care of me. She made sure the area was healing properly. At my final check for this surgery site, I was crying tears of joy because I was so happy that I couldn’t see the scar! She told me she’d have my back and would take care of me and she did!!! I highly recommend Dr. Monticciolo, Her… Staff, and Prestige Dermatology!!!

Dr. Monticciolo performed surgery on my forehead where I didn't even have a noticeable spot or blemish that she said was cancerous. Now I have a very noticeable indentation from the deep cut she administered. Wish I had read the reviews before I had the surgery!

Dr Monticciolo and her staff are extremely kind and knowledgeable. They made me feel at ease when it came to my surgery and explained everything. I was well taken care of and once my surgery site healed, you can’t see the scar. Dr. Monticciolo has gone out of her way to explain all aspects of my plan of care. Her knowledge, concern and professionalism make me feel confident in her care. Prestige Dermatology has the best team of dermatologists and staff!!

You will be left with a large scar, why you ask??? Its really a very simple answer, the lesion diameter determines the reimbursement rate for the procedure. Do your research people! Oh and don't feel sorry for the staff that work there, they are highly compensated via a bonus structure that encourages them to do whatever they need to do to sell sell sell!

Dr. Monticciolo and staff will take care of you like they took care of my family and I. My husband has psoriasis that they treat and it’s under control. My kids have acne and warts. They have managed their skin condition, as well. One of my children has had atypical moles that were treated with precision. The scar isn’t even noticeable! Both my husband and I have had precancerous lesions and skin cancers that have needed further treatment. We have been very pleased with our outcomes. Thanks to her I have a huge 2 inch scar on my face. She does not follow the standard mohs procedure. I feel totally violated by somebody that I put my trust in. Most dermatologists cut a small 1/4" incision at a time and you wait in the waiting room to see what pathologist says. She just slashed my face but it in numerous viles and stitched me up immediately. I was out of there in no time and now I have to live with this scar because she didn't want to spend the time to do the proper procedure.

I had a great experience at Prestige. The Drs. are very thorough and the staff is very nice.
