I paid over $200 for a full contact lens exam at Eyeglass World in November 2024, specifically to renew my prescription for Total 1 contacts, which I’ve been wearing without issue for over three years. The doctor confirmed during the exam that my prescription had not changed and provided me with a copy—which I later discovered was never signed. She also suggested I try a different brand and gave me a sample. I wore them once, didn’t like them, and immediately went back to my original Total 1 lenses. Now, in July—just eight months later—I’m being told I can’t reorder my contacts unless I pay for a second full exam. They’re refusing to sign the original prescription I already paid for, even though it’s legally valid for one full year. They won’t release the prescription, won’t see me without charging again, and the doctor is refusing to take my call. This is not just unethical. It’s fraudulent billing. It’s malpractice to charge patients twice for the same service within the valid… prescription period. I’ve offered to come in for a follow-up, but I will not be extorted into paying another $200+ for something I’ve already done. This is a blatant attempt to double-bill a paying patient and block access to a valid prescription. Horrible service. Disgraceful conduct. I’m contacting my attorney and reporting this. Avoid this place at all costs. Total scam.
