Dr. Natasha Mae Rueth, MD

All I can say is she was indifferent, rather cold, not really concerned with how I felt and left abruptly. I went to a different clinic which I graded as an A+. I would rate this doctor as an F.

I have been going to Piper Breast Center for years receiving excellent and compassionate care. This was my first appointment with Natasha Rueth. When the doctor entered with an intern, she introduced herself and ask my concerns and I told her about my breast pain. She did not answer but asked me to sit up and did my breast exam. I was stunned that she put my breast between her two palms, on each side and the exam was over! There was no exam of the breast wall or under my armpit where I was having pain. I thought perhaps she was just doing a quick exam before my mammo. The nurse followed up after the mammo with my results and a sheet of paper which generically explained my breast pain. I walked out deflated and left with questions unanswered. I hope this doctor is a better surgeon because in all the years I have been to Piper with my breast issues, I've never had an experience like this. I cannot recommend this doctor.

After years of receiving excellent and compassionate care, I was scheduled with a new physician. Upon entering my room with her intern, and introducing herself, she did not prompt me for questions and did not address those I mentioned. The breast exam was odd with me sitting up and her putting my breast between her two hands and that was it! She did not check the breast wall, my armpits; where I have pain. I thought perhaps this was simply a quick check before my mammogram and then I would see her again. My concerns about breast pain were provided to me on a sheet of paper that addressed general breast pain. I was so stunned at the lack of bedside manner and the breast exam. If you are looking for someone with compassion, I do not recommend this doctor. I hope she is a better surgeon, but I won't be seeing her again. I waited six months before writing this because I did not want to be writing this while angry.

This was my first visit with Natasha Reuth. When the doctor and intern? came in she introduced herself. She did not speak about my former case, did not ask how I was doing. She asked me to sit up, put my breast between her two hands, switched sides with the intern, and made no comment. I was so stunned I did not even know how to react. I did not know if this was an exam, just a quick check before the mammogram or what. None of my breast pain was addressed until the nurse brought out a piece of paper with breast pain concerns and answers. Apparently, that was my exam because I was released after my mammogram. I did not write this until 6 months after the exam because I did not want to speak harshly, but just factually. I would not recommend this doctor.

Focused on the known and not willing to look big picture. Suggested lumpectomy and had I not chosen bilateral mastectomy, I would still have 4 tumors in both breasts. Radiologist also missed by focusing on one side. Had the ultrasound gone to the other side, it would have been caught. Will need radiation based on lymphovascular invasion, and was told she would not recommend radiation. Had there been a PBDI (blue dye injection) done in both breasts we would have known about the lymphnodes and whether or not it was in the sentinel nodes. Now it is too late without another dissection. It is standard practice at other locations to do an MRI and this was also missed. Please advocate for yourself and do not assume or let anyone else tell you that you only have breast cancer in one breast.

Dr Reuth was my mom's surgeon for peritoneal mesothelioma in 2016. She worked on my mom for almost 9 hours removing cancer. We truly appreciate her hard work and and so grateful for the time we received thanks for her. She is a wonderful doctor with great bedside manner. Thank you Dr Reuth.
