Dr. Nathan Mcdonald

Originally from Great Falls, Montana, Dr. McDonald pursued his education at Johns Hopkins University, where he focused on Neuroscience and Psychology. His passion for medicine led him to Phoenix for medical school, followed by residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in New Hampshire. He most recently completed a Masters in Clinical Service Operations at Harvard Medical School and a fellowship in Emergency Department Quality and Management at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Dr. McDonald’s dedication to serving others is truly inspiring, as evidenced by his involvement in several volunteer organizations. He has actively contributed to a health literacy program for incarcerated women, developed a juvenile inmate tutorial program, and generously volunteered his medical services at local triathlons and high school football games.

Recently, Dr. McDonald and his wife made the decision to move to Western Colorado, drawn by the desire to be closer to family and live in a mountain town with four …seasons of recreation. When asked about his choice to work in rural medicine, he responded, “I want to live and work in a place that has a strong sense of community, and I found that here. The Western Slope feels like home.”

Beyond his medical pursuits, Dr. McDonald enjoys biking, skiing, running, and hiking. At home, he and his wife share their house with an Australian Shepherd/Bernese Mountain Dog/Poodle mix named Almond, who brings much joy to their lives.
