I second the other comment about I Dr. Nathan Mjos after he assumed my care after a shift change at St. Vincent Medical Center emergency room, and I have also never met a physician who is as disrespectful, rude, and arrogant as Mr. Nathan Mjos is. I also believe this man has no business treating patients as he blatantly violated my patient rights as stipulated on St Vincent’s website and the privacy practices and patient rights as stipulated on the St. Vincent Website. He never once discussed my issue in being at the ER, never asked about the excruciating pain I was there for. He flat out refused to give me anything but 400mg ibuprofen, when I am already on taking 800mg of it. I asked for a different NSAID for pain since the 800mg isn't working, and he, in front of about ten other patients said my name, then said he refused to treat me for pain because the ct scan didn’t show a blood clot. I came in in excruciating pain and was told to go there by my dr who couldn’t see me. From the… get-go, he treated me like a narcotic pain seeker and completely humiliated me in front of the other patients and refused manage my pain. This was especially ironic as I was sitting across from a posted sign that said "we aim to manage your pain, what is your pain level?" I'm not even sure how he can manage pain if he never asks the patients in they are in pain or what that level of pain is. The looks I got from the other patients were embarrassing. I should not have to deal with him treating me like that, without any dignity or compassion at all. Further, he did not advise me of other doctors who would manage the pain as the Hospital's bill of patients rights require of him. I wasn’t involved in my diagnosis or treatment and was not counseled in the options available to me. I had to demand he come speak to me before discharging me since no one told me the results of the CT. He has a very bad bedside manner. This physician should go back to school and learn how to provide patient-centered treatment, and how to treat patients in the emergency room. This man should be banned from working in emergency rooms. I had to walk out of the emergency room after being there for 10 hours because He refused to provide me with adequate care, or really any care. All he did was follow through on my earlier Doctor's treatment order. He certainly didn’t treat me with dignity or respect or even cordiality. I will be filing a complaint with St Vincent’s, and with both the California state and federal authorities, (and the hospital itself) for the privacy violations. I happen to be heavily tattooed and believe he discriminated against me and labeled me as A drug seeker or junky. The first doctor I had there was great— told me what was going on, what tests we’d do, what treatment would be depending on the outcome but he was off during the middle of my stay and I got this guy. I will never go to St. Vincent again. This is updated as my first post has higher stars than I reported on him last night (it was all 1 star), and now reflect me giving him 5 stars for bedside manner, which I would NEVER do. if I could give him negative stars, I would.

Diagnosed my rare disease after years of being misdiagnosed. Very nice and professional. It's nice to see a tall doctor once in a while.

This doctor has no bedside manner, is arrogant, rude & not able to diagnose a simple medical issue.

I met Dr. Nathan Mjos at St. Vincent Medical Center emergency room, and I have never met a physician who is as disrespectful, rude, and arrogant as Mr. Nathan Mjos is. This physician should not be working in the medical field. He has very bad bedside manner. He thinks he knows more about the patient's needs than the patient itself. I have a PhD in Public Health and have worked for a hospital for over 25 years. I know how doctors behave, and how they should behave with patients. This physician should go back to school and learn how to provide patient centered treatment, and how to treat patients in the emergency room. This man should be banned from working in emergency rooms. I had to walk out of the emergency room after being there for 10 minutes, because I could not trust that he would provide me with the adequate care I needed. I ended up going to another hospital which treated me with respect, dignity and understood my needs.
