Dr. Nathan Mordel

Dr. Mordel operated on me 3 weeks ago.Total hysterectomy and bladder sling. It appears both were a complete success! I walked 1/2 mile 3 days after my surgery. Barely have any signs from the incisions he made. Dr. Mordel came highly recommended to me by many of my trusted doctors. He's a little bit quiet, but will totally answer any questions you may have. I really liked him and felt so confidant as his patient. When I had to call him after hours, he called me back immediately. I would highly recommend Dr. Mordel AND North Fulton Hospital which was also A+!

After 27 years with stress incontinence and 18 years with rectal voiding issues and a failed surgery and insensitive doctors -- I was referred to Dr. Nathan Mordel. He gave me a plan and explained what needed to happen in my body prior to surgery. He was patient and wise and confident; therefore I was patient and hopeful. After 4 months of preparation he told me I was ready. Surgery was a success. No leaking or voiding issues since hours after surgery. Thank you for being excellent and using your talents to help others. You are a special doctor.

Dr. Mordel is one of the best doctors I’ve ever had in my life. Although his front office staff is heinous, he more than makes up for it with his excellent bedside manner coupled with considerable professional knowledge. He really eased my fears before going into surgery to remove a cyst on my ovary. And the recovery was instantaneous the day after due to his skilled surgical hands. I only regret that I moved from Atlanta and can’t go to him anymore.

I am 16 days out from my 2nd surgery with Dr. Mordel. I drive almost 4 hours to his office to get care because the doctors in my area have given me sub par care for decades. I have read other reviews of his care, not all positive. I have found that yes, the wait times are long. Yes, sometimes it takes a little while for his busy staff to call me back. Yes, Dr. Mordel has the attitude of a very confident surgeon but a bad dinner date, :-) . Now, that being said, I have been on the schedule VERY quickly when it was urgent. 2 surgeries, 0 complications. After decades of gyns talking to me like I was an idiot and being judged as hysterical, I found a gyn who LISTENED and validated me, then gave me the surgery I needed. And has twice given me my full, happy, healthy life back. Someone reviewed him negatively about not keeping her in the hospital overnight. I wondered if this person asked to be kept. I personally insist on going home. Yes, 4 hours away. I get in my bed, in my covers, with my… family around, in the quiet and I recover. If I needed emergency care I would go to the hospital. If Dr. Mordel thought I needed to stay, he would tell me. Maybe I have been lucky, no, I know I have. Complications can arise at any time but given the choice? I want to be home if my surgeon thinks it is ok. --Fact is no doctor is perfect, all people are human but my experience with Dr. Mordel and his staff, as a patient for over a decade, has been positive and the best thing that has happened to my medical care.

I'm definitely changing gynos... I've come three times for various reasons and every time I had to wait over an hour even though I made an appointment over two weeks in advance. It's impossible to schedule on short notice and when I get there and go through the 1+ hour wait he only sees me for 10 minutes and acts like he doesn't care about my concerns. The reception desk is literally one feet away from the waiting area so when you have to talk to the receptionist about something personal pretty much everyone can hear it all... The times that I have been there is not enough seating for faeveryone. I mean might as well just go to Planned Parenthood or the Feminist Women's Health Clinic if you're going to be treated that way and it is FAR cheaper. Overall not informative or responsive...

Excellent Doctor! I have had several different surgeries, but with the expertise of Dr. Mordel, I was ready to run and jog the next day.

Doctor Mordel recently performed my surgery. He is a skilled surgeon that also possesses wonderful patient care skills. He took over my care from another OBGYN that was slow to diagnose, slow to treat, and slow to offer test results. As a result, I was facing a long wait time for surgery with all the fear and nervousness that goes with that, especially regarding the possibilities of a cancer diagnosis. Dr Mordel learned of my situation by accident, but quickly offered to take on my case. By doing so, he immediately did testing that ruled out cancer, automatically easing my mind. He fit me into is surgical schedule well before I expected. He explained what he needed to do, the possibilities and risks, and the recovery time clearly. Going into surgery with my mind at ease made all the difference. It went well, and my recovery has also gone well. I can't say enough about the treatment I received from Dr. Mordel .

I just wanted to take this time to thank Dr. Mordel, Freedom, Kesha,and the rest of his staff. I'm still recovering from my hysterectomy, it was yesterday. I'm amazed at the care and effort Dr.Mordel goes to satisfy my needs. I called last night after the procedure and he responded immediately. It wasn't an emergency but it shows how compassionate and dedicated he is to helping. Today he called and checked on me, I have never had a doctor that was so personal with his patients. He is a humble, kind, and gentle spirit and I would recommend him to all of my friends and family. Thanks again for your time and efforts.

I am 3 wks post RATLH with Dr Mordel. I am a RN so I spent a long time researching the procedure and Dr Mordel. He is not my gynecologist. After reading many reviews and meeting Dr Mordel and his staff I made the best decision of my life to proceed with the surgery. I've been going to my gynecologist for more than 5 years and after scheduling the surgery with her I cancelled. I didn't feel comfortable proceeding with the surgery even though I know her and she knows me. Dr Mordel took his time during my appointment. He answered all my questions even when I asked them more than once. He reviewed myths and truths I presented to him and made me comfortable with my decisions. He was compassionate and understanding even allowing me to change my surgery plans the day of the surgery. Dr Mordel and his staff does everything to make you feel comfortable. He returned my calls when I had questions before surgery and he called me over the weekend to check on me after the surgery. The biggest… negative was my husband filled my prescriptions for my pain and nausea meds but I never needed them. I went home the same day as the surgery and my discomfort was covered by OTC Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen. I never had any nausea. That negative is really a positive to let you know that Dr Mordel makes sure you are covered with what you need but it was a waste of money for me because there was no real pain. You can expect some pressure and discomfort from gas. Getting up and walking around was fine. I went to visit my friends a week after surgery and they didn't believe I had surgery. Dr Morel is a great option for your upcoming gynecological procedure. That's my professional and personal opinion.
