Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I have a true passion for helping patients and a love of medical knowledge. I greatly enjoy orthopedics due to its challenging nature and seeing patients heal from injuries. Orthopedics is a rapidly growing field and it is exciting to play a part in its ever changing landscape. Urgent care orthopedics is a new(er) facet of orthopedics that is evolving into an integral step in the treatment process - the more I delve into this medical trade, the more respect I have for the profession and those dedicating their careers to orthopedics.What I want my patients to know about me:I spent three seasons as a mountain guide in Colorado from 2005-2008. I worked for an outfitter that led backpacking, rock climbing, and mountain biking trips in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Some of my most memorable moments were summiting 14,000-foot peaks at dawn, rock climbing in the Black Canyon Gunnison National Park, and mountain biking at a 12,000-foot …elevation above the tree line in the moonlight! What I do when I'm not seeing patients:In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cycling, running, and disc golf. I also enjoy the challenge of DIY projects around the house. My favorite sport teams are the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins.
