Dr. Nathaniel Barnes, MD

The doctor himself is fine but the staff is the worst I've experienced yet. Very unprofessional, rude, and inattentive.

Dr. Barnes is one of the smartest doctors I have come across and does not make you feel rushed or pressured into anything. His bedside manner is absolutely the best.

I have been trying to get a generic drug- prescribed by Dr. Barnes, to get pre-authorized for last 2-3 months, but has not been succeeded. Many calls, fax, many messages left to the office lady phone, for drug authorization, by me or the Walmart Pharmacy has yield nothing. The lady doesn't return any call. Had mentioned to Dr Barnes in 2nd visit, and he said he is aware of the problem. That's it. Still PX is not filled. Gave up. Never saw a patient-unfriendly doctor office in my whole life.

I love Dr. Barnes. He is meticulous and spends time with each patient. However, his office at the Astoria location is the worst mess I have ever seen. They claim that their phones are messed up and that is why they never answer the phone and they have to call you back, but looking at reviews from the past 2 years...it has been a long-standing issue. I have been trying for days (this time) to get to speak to anyone at the office about a procedure supposedly scheduled for TOMORROW for which I have no Pre-op appointment or orders. I think you have to show up in person to get to speak to anyone. The portal is also useless. There are no lab results posted and no one answers there either. It is a shame for such an excellent doctor to have such a terrible office. They are nice, but clearly lack leadership and have their priorities out of whack.

Love Dr. Barnes and his no nonsense attitude. BUT, getting office staff to answer the phone, or answer questions, or help with prescription refills, or return calls is an absolute nightmare. I will probably change doctors because of his staff.

While Dr. Barnes is a good doctor his office staff is the worst I have ever encountered. It is nearly impossible to get someone - anyone at all on the phone and once you do they're confused. This staff needs to be fired.

Horrible experience. Pain way too long after opp. They force appointment changes on the day of the appointment and they left me in the room until my original appointment time.

The Houston Urology Assoc. kept my refund of $250 for 7 years without notifying me of my credit balance!! They should pay me interest. Also, the bladder sling installed 7 years has already fallen out of place, so more surgery!! I feel ripped off!!
