Dr. Nathaniel Jasper Holmes, MD

Dr. Holmes is extremely professional and caring. I would highly recommend him. The office staff and nurses are wonderful as well. Caring, courteous, answering questions and making the whole visit easy.

After suffering for many years with diverticulitis had to have a portion of my colon removed. I am in my 70's and was concerned about the out come. Dr. Holmes visited me in the hospital and was very comforting and reassured me that I would be okay. I saw him in his office prior to the surgery and he took the time to explain the procedure, even showed me a picture of the section of the colon that had to be taken out and answered my questions, in a way that I could understand it. He even showed concern for my husband who was with me on every visit. My surgery was a success. Dr. Holmes has the most pleasant bed side manner so kind, constantly reassuring, I was able to talk about my faith and the higher power we both believe in. My post surgery care in his office, from him and his staff is wonderful and the wait time is usually short. I thank God for him and all the very caring staff who work with him. Went to see dr. Holmes here each time I go there's a minimum of at least an hour wait the office is over and double-booked like no one's time matters. Doctor will speak to you with door open and one foot outside of it you'll get 5 minutes tops with them and feel rushed even though you spent hours waiting. Had a procedure done to remove hemorrhoids and skin tags. I waited nearly three hours just to be pulled into surgery and then one of my blemishes the only one that is in view to the public was left behind for what is disorganized surgery again being rushed. I am quite livid about this, because I know my insurance company is paying a bunch of money for this procedure and I'm sure if any of those dollars were missed they would be recovered faster and with more care and concern then my blemish that was missed. I felt like cattle in this office and would not be recommending this place to anyone you just do not get client centered treatment there.

Dr. Holmes saved my life , performed surgery and the after care and follow p was excellent. My only complaint is the hospital he is affiliated with SIU .

waited 3 weeks for results. Pathology report from a different patient was given to me. When i received my report via fax I later noticed it stated I previously had radiation, which I did not. His staff were efficient and quick in helping to correct these errors

Dr. Holmes did diviticular surgery on me in 2001, RWJ university Hospital, he was thorough, professional and extremely attentive with post op and follow up, I was disappointed to learn he had moved on when I had a recent serious flare up. I just found him thru a webs search and would have felt MUCH better back in Ma y when I was In for 5 days,again at RWJU. Recommend him to anyone dealing with serious intestinal issues.

I made an appointment with Dr. Holmes and got to see him right away. The waiting room at the Hudson Place facility in Hoboken was crowded, but I got in within minutes of my scheduled appointment. I had been diagnosed with a villous tumor. It was painful and this also contributed to my anxiety. Dr Holmes was great. He verified the diagnosis and went over the anatomy of the tumor and what I could expect. He was friendly, sincere and professional. He answered all my questions and gave me confidence in his ability to save my life.When I had the surgery he did just what he promised. He removed the tumor completely and stopped in afterwards to update me. He even called me by telephone a few days later when the pathological report came in which verified that the tumor was benign. While I am still recovering I have been extremely pleased with the care that I have received and the courtesy and professionalism of Dr. Holmes.

Two things describe this man best---rude and arrogant

I understand that I may not have a MD, but I am well educated (I have a MBA). He has a nasty habit of talking to people as if they are a mentally handicapped 10 year old. I was diagnosed with rectal cancer with a very poor survival rate. I know that doctors must maintain a certain level of professionalism, but his bedside manner was absolutely atrocious. I was obviously upset when I heard the news and his answer to me was "Hey, I just do the surgery, I didn't invent the disease." It's concerning to me that this man is actually licensed to deal with human beings. Perhaps he should've picked another field where it required no human contact; like a vet.
