Neal Elattrache is an entitled human being who does not address or show compassion for his patients. He merely spoke with his fellowship student (who was personable and kind) while showing little care or attention to the actual patient.

More hype than results. Celebrity Dr who needs more real life experience.

Several years ago, while in high school, my daughter dreamed of playing softball as a profession. When a second labrum tear in her throwing shoulder threatened to derail her dream, I stepped out of our approved list of doctors and booked a cash visit with Dr. Frank Jobe. I shared my daughter's story with him. He brought in Dr. ElAttrache and the two of them developed a plan when other surgeons were at a loss. They got her back on the field where she competed for, and won a national title. As the years passed, my daughter became seriously ill. She was falling apart in front of my eyes. We couldn't figure out why her health was so poor. It was life threatening. Over a two plus year period, she saw countless teams of physicians. "House" type teams from prestigious institutions like Loma Linda Medical Center were stumped. She had to endure scary diagnosis such as AddiIson's Disease, MS, lymphoma, pancreatic cancer and a brain tumor. Her instability in her joints, along with her other… medical conditions prompted Dr. ElAttrache to suggest the possibility that my daughter suffered from Ehler's Danlos, a connective tissue disorder. He put us in contact with a team on the cutting edge of research at Cedars Sinai. They were able to confirm his fears. My daughter has been seeing Dr. ElAtrrache for years now. Dr. ElAttrache has been simply WONDERFUL. Being a surgeon for stars like Kobe, Kemp, Stallone, Schwarenegger and Greinke you'd think he would have a monster ego. Not so. He made my daughter feel every bit as important as the stars he sees on a regular basis. He is so much more than just a great surgeon. He is a good person. His kindness and compassion for my daughter washed over my family like a cool breeze. Seldom have I seen a doctor display such genuine kindness as I did during our countless appointments with him. He has been thorough, taking time to "listen" and then explain in great detail the steps he was going to take, the reason for the course of treatment, the goals and options available to us. Considering the amount of time he spent with us, it is no wonder he gets backed up. I would suggest booking an early morning appointment. Then take a deep breath and thank God you have found such a terrific person as your surgeon.

I am a personal injury lawyer of over 20 years. I must know of at least 20-30 orthopedic surgeons - some good, some better. For my own knee surgery I didn't know who to pick. So I decided to post an email to a chat room that is visited by over 1000 of my colleagues. 9 out of 10 responders confirmed my own opinion of him, and highly recommended Dr. Neal Elattrache of Kerlan-Jobe. Good doctors do God's work. This man is the God of his art. I left the recovery room last evening at 5 with slight pain. By 8 last night, I had no pain whatsoever - just took 2 tylenols for a headache I had. This morning got up with no pain, and although taking it somewhat easy, I've been moving around on it too, feeling secure and confident. I expect a 100% recovery. I found him to be very kind, personable, and courteous. He was also very informative and attentive. Most of all, he comes across confident and gives the patient a heartwarming feeling that "all is gonna be fine". Can't get… any better than this.l

If you want your shoulder repaired by the best, then this is your guy. You will have to wait to see him though. Their office is very busy.

It's been 8 yrs since Dr ElAttrache took over as my knee surgeon. I had a very serious post-lateral corner injury with multiple ligament tears. The first surgeon performed 2 surgical repairs that went fine until I developed complication of arthrofribosis. This was beyond his experience level and instead of admitting it he just wanted me to accept my limited ROM as is. Thankfully my PT at the time recommended Dr ElAttrache. He had an MRI taken and immediately knew what my problem was and a solution. He cleaned up all the scar tissue and after rehabbing the knee I regained full ROM. What's even better is it is now 8 yrs later and I can honestly says its as if I never injured the knee in the first place! Amazing because I was told this injury was very serious, career ending, I would never walk normal, blah, blah.... I went back to my former athletic life and reached a level of competition success I never thought I would attain. I can't thank him enough.

His nurse is amazing. Answered all questions, retuned calls to give more info and helped schedule around my tight schedule.Dr. Did not rush to surgery ( I wanted to but he explained why I should wait). Explained all steps to me. Constantly asked what my future plans were, so that he understood the level of play I wanted to return to. I came from out of the area and he was flexible and accommodating with all appoitments.Great staff, helpful and focused on me!!
