Dr. Neal K. Osborn, MD

I have suffered with stomach pains for several years and even after my Internist had prescribed Omeprazole and Famotidine I continued to have the pain. I finally decided to see a Gastroenterologist and I am so glad that I found Dr. Neal Osborn. He patiently listened to my complaints, asked many questions and then ordered the proper tests to diagnose my problem. I am happy to report the pain has been eliminated by the drug he prescribed. He is an excellent doctor!!!

Dr. Osborn was AWFUL! He misdiagnosed me and ultimately could have caused me to be really sick. He tried to take the ONLY medication from that was causing me any relief. He asked me almost no questions and did not listen to me. Two weeks later I was worse and went to Urgent Care and they gave me a REAL diagnoses and they said I was so bad off that in another 24 hours I would have needed to be hospitalized from dehydration. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! So disappointing.

My wife and I have been extremely fortunate to have some great doctors and Dr Neil Osborn is one of the greatest. Simply saving me from colon cancer is just one of the things he done. This is a GREAT DOCTOR. Anyone needing a gastroenterologist should see him and know that they are in the best hands and getting the best possible care. This is one special doctor.

I have being seeing Dr. Osborn since I was diagnosed with colitis in 2008. He is awesome. He takes the time I need to explain things to me, and he always call me back when I have a question about my treatment. I highly recommend him.

Excellent bed side manner! So helpful and very encouraging about an uncomfortable problem. Put right at ease. Unreal how calming that is. So nice to be treated with such respect and not a condemning attitude... Most of the time doctors make you feel it is all your fault......

I starting see a Dr. at their Emory Crawford Long office in 2005 for stomach problems. For two yrs I went back and forth to that office telling them I was bleeding profusely from my rear end. They told me it was hemorrhoids. I was losing weight. They told me I was still within an acceptable wt limit for my body type. Near the end I had lost 30 lbs and looked like a cancer patient. I was so constipated for 2 yrs I could not go with out the use of prescription laxatives. Finally I went to the Dr. Osborn in Douglasville,GA because I became too weak to continue the trip into the city to go to Crawford Long. The last time I saw Dr. Osborn I told him that all of my symptoms had only gotten worse. I even showed him a before and after picture of the 30 pound weight loss I had suffered. Here is what he said,"I think that you are too caught up in your bowel movements. If you have one every two days you should be satisfied. After I showed him the picture he gave it back and said, you lost weight… so what. He told me when your mind gets depressed your gut gets depressed. I suggest you change your diet. Two weeks after this I went on vacation to VA and ended up in the hospital. I spent 3 weeks in a trauma center in VA. I was in ICU twice and I almost died. They found I had blood clots in the veins leading away from my small intestines and a rare blood clotting disorder.

Dr. Osborn continued searching for a diagnosis for my mystery illness until he found the answers. Never did he make me feel like I was a "typical" patient, rather spent time focusing on my health needs. He/his office staff were extremely patient with our questions and always got back with us in a timely manner. After going misdiagnosed/undiagnosed for almost two years, we credit Dr. Osborn's hard work and diligence in finding some answers regarding my health!

He was not engaged enough in this case. Said my dad had regular BM in hospital but in fact he didn't have a BM for 10 days. Also, my dad was dying from malnutrition and he didn't prescribe a drug to increase his appetite until my dad was being released from Douglasville hospital, at which point my dad was on his death bed. Also, he never diagnosed liver disease and every nurse we met says he definitely has liver disease. I have the X-ray in front of me and he has an enlarged liver. I can tell without being a doctor!
