Dr. Neel Kamal, MD

I just read all the bad reviews on Dr. Kamal and I have to say that I disagree with most of them. The only one I agree with is the amount of time you have to wait to see him. This is because he is dedicated to taking time to listen and understand what each patient is going through when you do get in to see him. I have had great experiences for over 20 years with him and his staff and I know that they are very busy, but also very kind and caring. Dr. Kamal's nurses during a visit for a colonoscopy have great bedside manner. I know that Dr. Kamal is stretched thin because he also visits his patients in the hospital when they have had a surgery. I think that if he forgets your name or your spouses name, it's only because he is stretched so thin and the human brain can only handle and retain so much information. I feel that he and his staff have been given a bad rap and don't deserve it.

On a follow up visit after a colonoscopy Dr. Kamal came into the waiting room and called my name. We went into his office and he asked me are you Mr. ******* ? I answered yes. He asked me why I was there and I told him for a follow up to a colonoscopy. He started shuffling papers and said the girls from his off didn't put the information in the file. He was working out of an associates office in Towson ( 1 day a month). After calling his main office and getting the needed information, he asked me who I was, again. UNACCEPTABLE. Last appointment with him. He might know his field, but otherwise is scatterbrained. I changed doctors.

I would not recommend Dr. Kamal he can be very condescending and rude.

First of all the staff is rude, unprofessional and downright ignorant. My husband hated the treatment he got from this guy. The doctor never remembered who my husband was from one appointment to the next. On one appointment the doctor thought he was someone else and when my husband said no i'm not that person, the doctor actually said are you sure? I don't think this Dr. could find his ### with both hands. If you need help don't go to this guy. Makes me wonder how many people are suffering because of this guy's incompetence.

Sadly, I have to say the previous reviewer is right. He's always late...ALWAYS. His staff with the exception of the one (which is probably the nurse) is unprofessional. It takes MULTIPLE calls to get a refill (I think due to the staff). My spouse and I have documented health issues and, of late, he is VERY hesitant to perform endoscopies and colonoscopies. I'm not sure if he gets a kickback for doing less than average or if he's being limited. My life is worth more than that to me though. I really liked him for many years, but I have to move on.

After numerous visits to this office due to recent health issues, I can safely say I will not be returning. I've only been seen on time once, the staff, all but one, are very unprofessional, and the list could go on. I had an appointment to be seen at 2pm, which was later changed twice, after explaining I have blood sugar issues, I was finally back in the room shortly after 6pm. At another appointment I was asked if another patient (who had just walked in) could go in front of me due to having other obligations (nothing serious), when I said no he still was allowed ahead of me after an hour past my appoitment time. Overall, not happy with this office and if you'd like results/help, I recommend another office.
