Dr. Neelima Devi Ravi, MD

Comes off as condescending and perhaps judgmental. Said I need to lose weight and eat better (my BMI is 21.5, 5’5”, 130 pounds???). We never even discussed my diet so I don’t know what promoted her to say I need to eat a healthier diet. It actually made for an uncomfortable appointment, felt like I was being chastised and almost felt the need to apologize?? Just odd. Have also had several instances where appointments were miscoded which caused insurance billing issues.

Horrible Dr. No compassion, rude, condescending.

Went to Dr. Ravi for my new patient visit today as she was who my insurance selected for me when I moved to Tallahassee. She told me I was overweight for my height - I'm 5'4" and weigh 145 currently - and then gave me different diet regimens and told me to stop eating late-night meals - which I don't do and never told her I did do. Then, she asked why I was on birth control and I told her for acne initially and before I could explain further, she told me that it clearly was not working and so I should stop taking it. I left the office crying and hating myself. I work in sales...I can handle rejection pretty easily. This was just a whole different level of mean. Will more than likely never go back unless I absolutely have to.

She barely spends time with me and barely checks me when I'm seen. She is always quick to say "I don't see anything" or "drink more water". I leave her appointments feeling no better.

This doctor (Neelima Ravi) represents the insurance industry, not her patients. Very sad encounter. She does not listen, the human being was nearly impossible to find underneath all her "medical" conditioning. She honestly believes that she knows more about her patients' bodies than they do. I should have heeded the reviews - lesson learned! She might do better as a researcher where she doesn't have to deal with humans.

I had to schedule an appointment with urgent care today to address chest congestion and a peristent cough that disrupted my sleep. I described my symptoms to the nurse (who was lovely) and relayed the same information to Dr. Ravi. I mentioned in the past a (non-narcotic) prescription cough suppressant was helpful when I had chest congestion that disrupted sleep. It was my impression that Dr. Ravi was pushing more holistic approaches (nasal wash, honey) and the existing treatments I've already been doing (Mucinex, Claritin, Ibuprofen). I was utterly displeased to know that I not only wasted my time, but that I left there with no more information about trratements than I came in with. I am not the type of person to leave negative reviews, but I personally will not be seeking services from Dr. Ravi ever again. Nor would I recommend her to my family, friends, or colleagues.

I went in for my annual checkup and to get refills on prescriptions. However she did not want to refill my prescriptions and told me to wait a few days to try something different. Then when I call back within two week's time asking for a refill of a prescription she wanted me to come in again and pay another co-pay fee for something she just saw me for two weeks prior. I plan to switch to a new doctor.
