Dr. Neema Navai, MD

Dr. Navai was prepared for my initial visit. He answered every question including those I didn't ask. He did not rush us. He performed a secondary cystoscopy and biopsy to validate initial diagnosis. He performed a radical cystectomy/prostatectomy with illeal conduit. Two years later I'm living life and have had not one surgery related complication. I can't recommend Dr. Navai highly enough.

My husband is 91 and had 3 other cancers and Dr. Navai was just the latest doctor to do surgery. I know he is skilled, caring and always prepared. We could not have asked for anyone better especially at this age. I think some of the previous ratings from those that their ratings were less than excellent must be misguided or mistakenly reviewing the wrong doctor.

I just pulled up this doctor's comments and was very saddened by the lack of support this extraordinary surgeon received. My experience was unbelievable from start to finish. A local doctor found a lesion in my bladder. I went to MD Anderson and met Dr. Nevai on a Thursday morning. He had seen all the ultra sounds and xrays and was totally prepared to discuss what he had seen ON THE INITIAL VISIT, and recommended a course of action. I jokingly said, "ok, what are you doing tomorrow?" He smiled and said, I can work you in. This is MD Anderson! The next day I underwent the initial exploratory and found I had stage four bladder cancer. I was introduced to Dr. Siefker-Radke, brilliant oncologist, and received her recommendations for chemo. The chemo went well, the surgery was performed, and I am cancer free. I remember asking Dr. Navai what restrictions I would be looking at with the ilea l conduit and urostomy bag that I now live with. His comment was incredible...He told me that if I… chose to swim the English Channel, he would be on the other side waiting for me. Folks, it just doesn't get any better than that.
