Dr. Neeraj Gupta, MD

I got a high charge of $518 for his office visit where he actually did not do anything and on top of that he went to see another patient while I was sitting there hesitating to do an endoscopy procedure!! I went to see him for a chronic sore throat but did not want to do the endoscopy procedure through my nose as I got nervous. He asked me to do the procedure or he will not be able to do anything. But I got nervous and did not want to do that so asked him if he can suggest or guess anything for the chronic sore throat. He said that being a specialist he canâ??t say anything until he does the procedure and it could be anything including cancer!! Therefore I left the Dr. Office without any suggestions or service. I got a $518 charge with a code of â??OFFICE CONSULT LEVEL 4â?? for this whole visit. I tried calling the Dr. office for several times saying that there might have some mistake in putting the code as â??Level 4â?? when there was nothing done at that visit. But got no help from… them and I still have to pay that high amount of money!! I went to see another specialist and he suggested some acid reflux medicine and the pain went away after taking the acid reflux medicine. I did not have any issue paying for this 2nd visit as the Dr. actually took some time to give me some comfort saying that it does not seem to be a worrisome situation and acid reflux is most likely the reason for it. I just still cannot believe a Dr. can scare you saying something like â??it could be a cancerâ?? and code as "Level 4 consultation" charge without doing anything!!
