We met Dr. Onumah through a mutual friend but didn’t initially know much about her practice. Our experience with her began when our 8-year-old son developed alopecia areata (AA), which was very confusing and stressful for us as parents. Our first step was visiting our pediatrician. At first, we were told it might be a fungal infection, but tests later came back negative. At that point we felt very uncertain and worried because we still didn’t have clear answers about what was happening or how to treat it. One evening we happened to run into Dr. Onumah at the grocery store. While talking with her, she noticed our son’s hair loss and suspected it might be alopecia areata. We later scheduled an appointment at her clinic for a proper evaluation. During our visits, Dr. Onumah took the time to answer all of our questions and explain the condition and treatment options in detail. She was very patient and made complex medical information easier for us to understand by using simple explanations… and examples.
