Dr. Neil A. Ettinger, MD

I was admitted into ICU & required ventilator support for 7 days after developing Guillan Barre Syndrome. For 3- 4 days/ nights, I either did not sleep or slept poorly and was confused to my location, what I was doing etc. On day 4 following extubation, I required more oxygen with a delivery device that Dr. Ettinger felt was safer to move me back to ICU. This change in care prevented being reintubated. Dr. Ettinger continued to follow me even after moving out of ICU again. He sat at bedside, discussing status, goals of care, plan for discharge to acute rehab. I have since seen him in office where he reviewed progress, goals etc. I felt well cared for with his close monitoring and support towards recovery.

He scaremongered my 90 year old mother with disinformation. Not only is he an the arrogant jerk but his disinformation betrays his incompetency. He may have all the degrees but he has no heart and no sense of compassion.

I saw Ettinger for issues w/sleep. He seemed to have a single methodology that he thought would work w/every patient. When it didn't work w/me he basically gave up and said your on your own... He also bad mouthed my previous doctor who was one of his peers who worked out of the same office and had retired. I actually much preferred the previous doctor. I found Ettinger to be arrogant and aloof w/zero bedside manner!

Dr. Ettinger saved my husband's life. After a poor surgery by Dr. Sciortino, my husband developed multiple blood clots in his lungs. After being in the ICU for a week, Dr. Ettinger was able to bring my husband back to breathing normally. Other doctors, even my brother-in-law, are amazed that my husband did not pass away. Dr. Ettinger knows what he's doing. Thank you!!!

Stayed on my problem until we found a fix

He appears to only care about those who did not smoke. He was condescending to me. He walked out on me after many, many appointments. Fasten your seat belts, many bumps in the road ahead.

An incredible doctor. Really cares about his patients, efficient and courteous.

I've only had a few visits with Dr Ettinger in his office, but I was very impressed with Dr Ettinger and his office staff. While inpatient at St Luke's he was excellent! On time, knowledgeable, and great bedside manner.

Dr. Ettinger and staff are very knowledgeable and oh so very kind. The best.

I can not recommend this doctor. He is totally uninterested in his patients needs. As I saw in an earlier review, "it is my way or the highway" with him. He is not interested in collaborating with the patient in any way. I was referred to him for a very specific treatment for a very specific problem. Rather than address that problem, he wanted to prescribe a dangerous medication for minor problem that I was not even concerned about, and that all other doctors I've seen since agree I do not have. When I refused to take the medication he prescribed and asked that he instead focus on the problem I was referred to him for he became angry and told me he could not help me. I went elsewhere.
