Dr. Neil Seth Hammerman, MD

Years ago, I went to Dr. Hammerman. I was losing my voice very often. He was performing an exam where he had to insert a scope through my nose and down my throat. When he first came close to me, my reflexes made me pull my head back. Dr. Hammerman GRABBED my nose and pulled me back towards him. I knew then that I would never be back. If he was the greatest ENT in the world, which he is NOT, I'd go mute and deaf before I went back to him.

Dr. Hammerman is an excellent doctor. Never had a problem.

I had a rhinoplasty with him in the late 1980s- i have had 2 surgeries since than to correct his incredibly unskilled work. The Dr. I saw who is one of the best nose revisionist surgeons said this man was a butcher who did this to you. He pulled so much cartilage out of my nose, I had to use part of my ear for the subsequent surgeries. Incompetent and a very uncaring unhappy man. Stay away just stay away.

Clinically he may be sound...I'm unsure. Had a sinus infection for 4 days. Saw him and he started me on antibiotic & steroid regiment. It didn't seem to be effective so after almost 5 days I spoke with him and he agreed to try another antibiotic. 3 days later still absolutely no change so he ordered a CT scan. I requested something to relieve the congestion and pain from the pressure but he said he'd like to make an educated decision based on the DX test. I felt he could have tried something to help me as this was a Thursday and he wouldn't read the CT scan results til Monday but he refused. Waited all day Monday for his call and at 4:30 I called the office. He was gone for the day...wouldn't be in til noon on Tuesday. Horrible!! So in essence he placed me in a situation by which I am enduring an additional 5 days of pain (it's now 15 days I've had this infection). He is arrogant, condescending and exhibits absolutely zero empathy for the patient. On top of this he demonstrates no… sense of urgency relative to the patient's needs. He may be clinically very good but who want to go 15 days with an infection that is quite debilitating. I would suggest finding a doctor who entered medicine cause he/she truly cares about their patients! Neil Hammerman is not that doctor!

Dr. Hammerman seemed quite arrogant and uncaring and almost refused to remove wax from my ear because he had no record of a hearing test for me. Interestingly, he was so interested in that, and threatened SEVERAL times (in a way that felt almost bullying) not to see me again, that he FORGOT to check my nose and throat after he finally agreed to remove my wax. Well in my estimation, unless I was there for hearing aids, or some other organic problem, removing wax from someone's ear who has this problem(and has for 35 years and even saw this doctor many years ago)would not be a malpractice risk. However, it seems quite remiss to not check my nose and throat during this visit. No ENT has ever seen me without checking my ears,nose and throat- oh yes, they were able to do that without a hearing test! I wonder what the billing guidelines are for a hearing test as opposed to looking in ones nose and throat? My friend reported a similar story when I told her I was going to see Dr. Hammerman-… so I am clearly not the only one who feels this way. I personally would Never Ever see this doctor again.

Dr.Hammerman was very rude, absolutely no bedside manner. It's been 24 years that my Mother is no longer with us. He caused a fistula and my Mom bleed to death. I couldn't believe this arrogant Doctor is still practicing. He got another 24 years that she didn't. Good Luck with himâ?¼

His bedside manner is absolutely horrible and he doesn't care about anything you have to say. I went to him for a growth in my ear which he acknowledged had become infected, and the second time I visited him for the same thing he said I had no growth. I would suggest to everyone to visit any other Doctor besides Hammerman.

My husband just had an appointment today with Dr. Neil Hammerman and got taken right away and he did the biopsy and we are given an appointment on the spot (not common from any other offices that you have to wait for a while, to set up an appointment). He explained to my husband what my husband had and he is very thorough on what he does while I'm just observing and try to listen to what he just said. It's worth of wait, he actually spent more time to attend us. In my opinion he is an exceptional Doctor that has a lot of knowledge and heart to his patient ( most medical offices now a days are just run by nurses and Physician assistant). His stuffs are great also!!! Thanks Dr. Neil Hammerman, Eileen, and Stephanie you guys are EXCELLENT!
