I am happy he retired from UCSD so that other students will be spared from his cruelty.

I saw him for a year. He’s more focused on trying to fix symptoms than address the root of the problem. I found myself constantly being written off by him. Whenever I tried to bring up something and it didn’t fit into his already decided upon diagnosis he’d just ignore me completely. I started crying one time out of frustration and his response was to ask me to get myself into an IOP to control my emotions.

He is dismissive, defensive, and power hungry. He does not cooperate with you for your best interests, only wants to exert superiority over you.

Dr. Richtand lacks any form of human empathy. He consistently did not listen to me or make me feel safe during my visits. I felt like I was being tested on the entire time I was there, rather than being treated like a person. I would not recommend him to anyone.
