Dr. Neil Stanley Shachter, MD

Dr. Schachter is one of the refined healers ever existed. He cared for his patients with his generous heart and his elegant soul. It is truly a privilege to be cared by Dr. Schachter.

Horrible!!!! Very unprofessional. Yes, I need to lose weight, but this is all he could talk about as if I didn’t know. He charted exam that he did not do. I am a Nurse Practitioner and I know what an examinations are. I also did chart reviews for years. I cannot recommend him for anyone. He recorded incorrect labs and was not happy that I brought in a copy of labs that I’d had the week before and would require it to be scanned into his system.

Doctor Schachter was my cardiologist at the time my wife's PCP called on him to consult for her. She was suffering of sudden syncope episodes. Hospital telemetry showed all normal. The PCP was about to discharge her but thanks to the tenacity and dedication of Dr. Shachter they didn't. Dr. Shachter sat for almost an hour (in my presence, at the hospital) reading telemetry printouts. He found what the staff had overlooked and found the problem with her heart. As a cardiologist I recommend him 100%. Great bedside manners and doesn't mind taking the time to get the patient to understand the matters at hand.

Dr. Schachter may be very competent but I was not happy with several things: 1. It took him a week, after constant calls, to get back me to me about bloodwork--and he never went over the bloods specifically with me. 2. After my visit, no follow up visit was mentioned or booked. 3. I was not happy that the office was closed for two half days during the week.

Dr Shachter is real. Initially hesitant about him I have grown to like and respect his knowledge, thoroughness and opinion. He was tenacious in his testing which annoyed me on the one hand, but probably prevented a major heart event on the other. I really feel he is a guy who I can talk to and get a real honest answer instead of just a clinical response. His staff are also very accommodating and professional as well as friendly and helpful......

Dr. Shachter cares about the well-being of his patients more than any of my other doctors. He always takes the time to sit and discuss everything with me to make sure I fully understand. (even if it takes 45 minutes) This has become an exceedingly rare trait for a doctor today. I chose Dr. Shachter mostly because of his many years of experience at Columbia Universities' New York Presbyterian Hospital. When my husband and I moved down to Florida we were worried to be so far from any Ivy League university hospital. Thanks to Dr. Shachter, we can live in Florida and still get the top notch health care that we are used to. I would recommend him to my friends.

Another doctor who thinks he is above all and thinks with his rear end rather than his head . Hospital nurse attempted to call him at least 5 times and story was he was on his way . Hours later still no Shachter and no return calls . The nurse attempted to reach him but at this point no return calls from either himself or his service .Almost 4 hours later still no Shachter , no return calls offering an apology or even an excuse . Another example of the medical system gone wrong .
