Dr. Neil Alden Venard, MD

This time without profanity. Excerpt from Letter of Complaint sent to Whidbey General [hospital] in Coupeville, WA Now, I’m also bipolar [actually I'm tripolar; I’ll try anything!!!] and I need to talk to “youns guys” [Pittsburghese; that’s right!!! I’m from the east coast {Pittsburgh in fact} so I'm NOT one of you ‘west coast wimps’. Because that’s REALLY all you “people” from the west coast are and you don’t EVEN have a clue socially] about that ‘wannabe psychiatrist’ you call Dr Venard. I told him NOT ONCE, NOT TWICE, BUT AT LEAST THREE TIMES that 10 mg of zyprexa was too much, that I was overmedicated with that amount, which caused me to doze off throughout the entire day, and the next two days afterward [just from one single 10 mg dose of zyprexa which I’m obviously EXTREMELY sensitive to]. So, what does Dr. Venard do??? He goes ahead and prescribes me 10 mg of zyprexa [as well as 30 mg of anti-depressant mirtazapine which did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT GIVE ME A BAD CASE OF… DIARRHEA]. About two months later [it takes that long to see him via teleconference {ie TV} as he is only available on Wednesdays], when I told him about being overmedicated on zyprexa, HE BLEW ME OFF AGAIN, and told me to “just keep on doing what you’re doing and make another appointment in another two months”. Apparently, he had more important things to do than listen to my problems as the ‘meeting’ only lasted a few minutes. So you tell me. What’s the point in seeing him, if he’s not going to listen to a word I say, and just keep blowing me off whenever I tell him I have a problem??? HE’S NOTHING BUT JUST A WASTE OF MY TIME [JUST LIKE NANCY CLARK]. Perhaps Dr Venard should SERIOUSLY consider making a career move, as he's pretty much incompetent [at least with me anyways] as a psychiatrist [oh, he talks the talk, but HE MOST DEFINITELY DOES NOT WALK THE WALK. Talk is cheap, but he’s cheaper!!!] In fact, I'd go so far to say that he’s ‘the Vicki Werve [TOTALLY INCOMPETENT RN at Clinton,WA clinic] of psychiatry!!!’ and that’s saying something!!! 80-90% of psychiatry has to do with LISTENING, and he doesn’t [or can’t] even do that worth a 'darn'. HE IS WITHOUT DOUBT, THE WORST psychiatrist I’ve ever had the displeasure of knowing, and since I was 26 when I was first diagnosed with bipolar I disorder, I've seen quite a few psychiatrist over the past 31 years since then as I'm now 57].

Down to earth, practical and accurate. Great doc.
