Dr. Neil Vaman Waravdekar, MD

Dr. Warevdekar seemed gentle and professional when I met him in the hospital many months ago. In my experience after seeing him 2+ times in his doctor’s office for COPD, he is all of the following: -rushed -not prepared before walking in with my history whatsoever, which is unusual for a dr -not at all supportive in recommending resources/options -has poor bed side mannerism -has staff that is very tense and on edge, unfriendly I will no longer be returning to this Dr’s office in the future and find it unconscionable that this Dr is “caring” for patients while treating me with such disrespect and writing me off as dying. If I am truly at the end of my life, I would certainly not want to be dismissed and treated by this dr in the way I was recently treated. He does not allow time for all questions and is not proactive nor positive. Not recommended by myself or my wife (who is a health care professional). We see we are not alone with the many other negative reviews.

I first met Dr. Waravdekar after I was admitted to the hospital. I had numerous symptoms such as extreme weakness in my extremities and inability to coherently communicate. After numerous tests, x-rays and CT scans I was diagnosed with an acute case of pneumonia in my lung’s upper and lower, right and left lobes. Along with other doctors, Dr. Waravdekar visited me every day and kept me well-informed of my recovery progress. I looked forward to seeing him because he was so personable and explained my condition in terms I could understand. After four days spent at the hospital, I had recovered enough to be discharged. Since pneumonia just doesn’t disappear especially since I had a severe case, I continued to see Dr. Waravdekar as he monitored my recovery progress. Over the next two months I had additional x-rays and a pulmonary function test (PFT). When the last x-ray showed that the pneumonia had cleared, Dr. Waravdekar ordered a final CT scan to confirm that nothing was present… that the x-rays did not pick up. He pronounced me totally recovered and in no need for any more follow-up appointments. He was straight-shooting, personable, very knowledgeable and professional. Dr. Waravdekar never cut me short during an appointment and always spent the time explaining everything to me. It has been a pleasure to be Dr. Waravdekar’s patient. In addition, the front staff and doctor’s assistances at Frederick Medical and Pulmonary Associates were always very pleasant and helpful.

For more than a decade I have been a patient of Dr. Neil Waravdekar. He stays on the cutting edge of science and medicine and truly cares about his patients, whether they have been with him a long time or brand new to his practice. He takes his time listening to his patients concerns and advises based on what they have disclosed and what tests results show. His staff likewise is kind, courteous, well trained professionals in the medical field. From the front desk you always get a warm welcome, and ready assistance. Wait time is minimal as they schedule their doctors time well. Good Job All Around.

I wish I had read these reviews prior to investing my time with Dr. Warvadecker. Please take my advice, along with other reviewers to find someone else. I am a 29 year old otherwise healthy adult. I have a calcified lymphnode sitting on top of my lung. It has been causing some intense pain lately, so I decided to follow up with him with my concerns. As a healthcare professional myself, I was horrified by his response to my questions and concerns. He told me I was being "dramatic" and to just "take some advil and go to sleep". When I politely asked for him not talk down to me like, he puffed out his big Dr. chest and made me feel like I was making everything up. As someone concerned about a large mass causing pain, I feel like I had the right for some clarification. I just wanted him to hear what I had to say. When I was finally fed up with his condescending tone as he insulted me, I said "Thank you sir for your time, but we are done here." It should have ended there in the… office...instead he followed me into the hallway with other employees and patients to say "You are weird! I have never had someone walk out on an appointment before." I am a physical therapist that doctors in my facility look to for guidance and recommendations for their patients. Regardless of my qualifications or the reason for my visit, that is no way to treat a patient with valid concerns!!! I am horrified that anyone would talk to a patient in this manor. Shame on you and shame on this office for allowing that sort of treatment!!

Did not listen to my feedback, and I was not improving. I changed practices, and found a doctor who listens and allows me to be a partner in my healthcare. I’ve greatly improved!

not one person in this office will smile, and no one is friendly at all. When you call the office, you don't get anyone that is helpful or kind, just a very rude office.

Dr. Waravdekar has no bedside manner. He does not take the time to listen to his patients. This is a business for him and he doesn't make you feel that he cares about you the patient.

This man will save your life. He is a learned, brilliant physician that stays on the cutting edge of science and brings this to his patients. He understands the importance of weight loss and runs a significantly important program for maintaining overall health issues.

One of, if not the best, doctor I've encountered at making you feel at ease while still providing complete care.
