Dr. Nelson Barritt Arnstein, MD

Born in Sharon, Connecticut, I was raised in New York City, where I later attended the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. However, California has always been a major draw for me. I attended Pomona College in Claremont and later lived in Santa Monica while teaching on the faculty at Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center for 11 years. I worked for six years as a medical reviewer for the Food and Drug Administration. Then I joined Kaiser Permanente. Clinical nuclear medicine offers the opportunity to interact with referring physicians, technologists and most important, the member. I find that a caring and compassionate encounter with a member is extremely rewarding and often enhances the quality of the procedure. This is especially true for those members with cancer, whose need for an empathetic and understanding doctor is so evident.
