ABOUT DR. HATANAKA
After graduating from Kaimuki High School in 1973, Dr. Hatanaka attended UH and then later USC where he graduated with a degree in Sociology. He graduated from USC dental school in 1981.
While his 3 children were growing up he was involved coaching various youth sports teams in such leagues as Hawaii Kai, Wai-Kahala, KAC and Manoa.
Now that his children are in college, his current pastimes include volunteer refereeing for the Hawaii Kai Youth Basketball League and hanging out at the Hawaii Kai dog park with his beagle Ziggy and wife Adele. He also devotes his spare time to cleaning up Sandy Beach and being the commissioner of his friends and family's Fantasy Sports leagues.
