Dr. Nelson Chukuka Onaro, DO

He was the only doctor here in town of McAlester Oklahoma that actually listened regardless, what people think about him he was the best he didn’t just prescribe me meds because I wanted them. Of course I don’t do medication but that’s not the point he saw me and found that I had thyroid problems. He helped me with other issues, other doctors here in McAlester would get a two star review so far because they went to school. I’ll give them the extra star, but Onaro was great.

My Primary Care Physician for many years.This Doctor has always given very good care to my health needs.Having been His Patient, is a Blessing.Because I'm sure that the very best of care is provided.He is an Extraordinary Gentleman.

Dr. Onano has been my adult child's doctor for a while now. Over the years we have been to many different types of medical doctors to help us with the needs our adult child has. No one until Dr. Onaro was able to diagnose and medically treat our child. It has been a life changing thing for our family. Before the medicine for sezuries was given my adult child would fall some days constantly and at times because he was so tall and big would have to crawl to bed or stay in bed all day to keep him safe. Because he has had a pulmonary embolism n still has blood clots being in the bed was very unsafe for him too. So again I say this was a life changing event for our family. My childs life has changed and our family will forever be so GRATEFUL to DR. Onaro. We thank God for him daily.

I went to a “Specialist” for 2 years and done nothing but receive 2 failed back surgeries. The very first visit to Dr. Onaro he revealed more information concerning the symptoms I was having than the “Specialist” did! He is very caring, very considerate, takes time to actually listen to his patients, and I would recommend him far over my previous Dr.

I have been going to him for 2 years, I know most people will say well how come you stayed with him if he is so horrible? Well the reason is because their is no other subutex/suboxone doctor in my area!! Until, the other day, I had my last straw!! My appt was at 230 p.m. I did not leave his office until 9 p.m.! My baby girl had to sit with me that whole time waiting with me!! && onaro && his staff didnt csre!! Also, he has never talked to me about eventually tapering off subutex or anything about this medication and it is supposed to be a program to help you get off all opioids!! && he constantly falls asleep on me, never talks to me besides saying how are you? Any new problems then writes script okay have a good day! I am in the room with him maybe 5 minutes or less! (If he doesnt fall asleep) and the scheduling staff is horrible there should be no reason why someone would have to wait half a day just to be seen 5 minutes. Also, if you need to be seen for actual sickness or anything… the staff will automatically think you are wanting more of your refills or just assume that you ran out whenever, you clearly state no I just need to be seen because I need antibiotics!! Anyone could walk in there and ask for whatever they want and get it! Any narcotics!! I'm so glad I found this dr in Texas. I will pay the gas to drive 2 hours to see my NEW dr anyday over seeing dr onaro!! #heneedstobeshutdown

Took my brother (who has a disability from birth and is in a wheelchair) there for pain management. Never touched my brother once to examine. Gave him scripts. Next month went in and gave him nothing but headache meds and nothing for his pain. Never refilled the same meds twice, every month it was something different. When called they would/could not give him a reason why he would not give him pain meds. He falls asleep during visits and his bedside manners are worthless. Even if you don't care about your patients.. at least fake it some.

Dr. Onaro and his staff take the time to build a professional relationship with their patients. Dr. Onaro has been my doctor for over 15 years and I will continue to direct any one needing a great doctor to make an appointment He is an awesome person and does not rush people in and out he takes the time to listen and learn his patiences needs.

Dr. Onaro and his staff are amazing!! Always a clean office, very respectful, thoughtful and always puts the patient first. Dr. Onaro is a brilliant Dr and one that takes time to make sure all your concerns are addressed at each appt. I have moved from that area and I still drive 2.5 hrs for my monthly appt. I wouldn't change doctors for anything.
