Dr. Nelson Chua Yu, MD

Dr. Yu is unprofessional, rude, arrogant and several of his staff reflect these same characteristics. Aside from his rude and snarky comments, he is so bold as to belittle and talk extremely derogatory about other physicians by name. He is very opinionated, negative, condescending and in my opinion should not be in the medical profession. I am a highly educated professional and executive that understands the importance of treating all people with respect, decency, compassion, empathy, and professionalism.

He runs around like a chicken with his head cut off. Rude and likes to intimidate people. I have a serious condition and he brushed me off but he sure was happy to take my money. I do not recommend him and think the medical board should look into his antics and NON-professional behavior.

Dr. Nelson Yu told me to "go back to Alaska." He told me all about how upsetting it was to him that "Californians" who "move to the Tri-Cities and build their mansions here." He didn't care that I'd been born and raised in Washington State. I should go back to Alaska. It didn't matter to him that I'd arrived in Kennewick with 10 untreated broken bones because I could not obtain decent or humane care in Alaska. In fact, it was my PCP in Alaska who had told me that for me to find "proper medical care" I would have to leave Alaska. We lost everything, a well maintained, clean, even ADA compliant, home, furnishings, clothing, bedding, yard stuff, documents (all my files) etc. to move to WA State and obtain the elusive humane medical care for me. My daughter had to quit her job to come with me. But Sarah Palin, lived had lived there, he so wanted to talk about Sarah Palin. I never met the woman. I know he meant Sarah Palin, Alaska's former Governor and failed USA VP candidate, because he… even offered that his own birthday is the same day and month as hers. He broke Confidentiality on me and then goofed when he told me I had already gone back to Alaska once after moving there. I know that he got that illegally because it hadn't happened. There was one group, however, that came up with that errant conclusion when we disappeared from their "maps" on us for over a month. We'd had to go and live in my van for that month while we waited for the house we'd found to open up. I've never been further north than the Tri-Cities, in the USA since moving to Kennewick, WA, in 1995. His Sleep Study was a joke, they didn't even do it properly, no one was serious to get valid results, but they did bill Medicaid for that. I know it as done poorly because I had already had two Sleep Studies in Wasilla Alaska prior. It wasn't everyone in Wasilla Alaska who treated me with contempt (like Dr. Nelson Yu) only some. We are Messianic Jews. We don't "go to church" anywhere. We attend a Shul. That's what Jews without a Temple do, they go to shul or a synagogue or a havurah, a fellowship (in English). Oh, and we did discuss a thing or two about my medical care but little about my medical history, he was so sure he knew it all, already. From whom, I do not know. It wasn't anyone I'd given him a Release of Information to/from.

Dr. Yu was courteous and easy to talk to. He was thorough and shared his thoughts and concerns about my condition with me. He did no make me feel like he had better things to do with many others waiting on him to get done with me and get on with his business. He answered my questions and listened to and discussed my concerns with me without interruptions.

While i am sure Dr. is very good at what he knows, his bedside manner is the worst of any Dr I have dealt with in my 56 yrs. He pretty much called me a liar to my face and had my sister not been there with me I would have walked out right then and there..then he never even apologized for doing it...needless to say after the incident, I didn't talk to him...my sister did...People do not like being called a liar, especially when they are not!!
