Dr. Alex N. Hoang, MD

Dr. Alex Hoang is a Texas transplant after completing his Endovascular Neurosurgery Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX . “I’ve grown to love this community, the people, the culture and the food of Houston. I consider it a great privilege to have the opportunity to serve this community and bring my expertise in the field of cerebrovascular neurosurgery.” At Baylor, he underwent specialized training in minimally invasive techniques to treat vascular lesions of the brain and spine. Before coming to Houston, he received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from The University of Utah, where he was raised. He completed neurosurgery residency training at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Hoang specializes in cerebrovascular/endovascular neurosurgery. His clinical focus is on acute stroke, brain aneurysms, brain arteriovenous malformations, dural arteriovenous fistulas, spinal vascular malformations, intracranial and extracranial carotid artery stenosis, and …vascular lesions of the brain and spine. ”As a dual-trained neurosurgeon, who specializes in both minimally invasive endovascular neurosurgery and open vascular neurosurgery, I am able offer the best individualized treatment for my patients, rather than performing a specific technique. I believe in incorporating minimally invasive strategies first, to provide the highest quality surgical care to return patients to their lives.”

Dr. Hoang’s research focuses on improving stroke therapy and outcomes, aneurysmal vasospasm and delay cerebral ischemia, and drug delivery to the central nervous system.
