Dr. Niall Mercer Heney, MD

Was referred to doctor Heney to determine cause for nocturia that has been an issue for me for years. Doctor came in the room and said I should go see a psychiatrist to treat my nocturia. It is all in my head. Felt uncomfortable as doctor Heney kept blaming me for the nocturia and for me not to see a psychiatrist before seeing him. Very clearly biased given I have dark skin, he made no attempt to do further tests. I gave up after this appointment. I would say stay away from such a racist doctor.

Dr. Haney watched as my father suffered with hematuria for nearly 2 years and when he went to see Dr. Heney, the doctor stated that he did not know that my dad had stopped taking the Finastride that was discontinued by his PCP. Visit after visit when he did not see this on the active medication list he failed to prescribe it. As my dad's hematocrit plummeted below normal limits, he told me that my father should see his PCP about the decreasing blood count due to the persistent hematuria. Year after year he failed to coordinate care with the PCP of record. Despite a language barrier, his practice never provided an interpreter for my dad. How have they been communicating all these years? How can true consent for care have been achieved? Patients BEWARE of this provider.

Having been diagnosed with bladder cancer I had no idea what to expect. The facility I was going to was less than helpful. My wife called MGH and was put in touch with Lisa in Dr Heney's office. Lisa got us in to see Dr Heney that same week and I was scheduled for surgery the next week. Dr Heney took the time to sit with us to go over what I would be going through and to answer any questions we had. Today I went to see Dr Heney to have my bladder checked and received a clean bill of health.Dr Heney and Lisa are wonderful people who truly care about their patients. I feel very blessed to have these people on my side in the fight against cancer.

He is the best of the best in his field and a human being of incredible compassion and understanding. There is no one who has worked with him that did not think it was one of the best experiences of their professional lives and did not think he was the best doctor and best human being they'd ever worked with.

I am so happy that I have Dr. Heney, I feel he is a miracle dr. He operated on me for bladder cancer and I believe he saved my life. He has compassion, caring, and is very proffessional and knowledgable in his field. I feel he should be commended on a great job. I am truly thankful to him.
