If you're good with paying $1000 for a prescription and not being able to get refills when your life depends on it...

Many things in the medical industry, I am sure have disturbed many of you as well as me. The high cost of insurance, the inability to get insurance, the high cost of perscribtion drugs, i could go on and on about it. Well none of it has disgusted me like what I have dealt with From the office of Dr Liu Niansen PhD. I was told that there office is taking new patience but that I had to go through a review process to see if they could see me. I needed to fill out a paper and it could take up to a week to find out if they would see me. This paper had 3 sections 1. name, address, phone number, DOB, SS # section 2. insurance information section 3. What do you need to see the doctor for, with approximately four lines. Now what this doctor got out of this tiny bit of information on a person I don't know and what he needed to see to make you qualified to be a patient I don't know either. But this is what I wrote (i dont usually openly tell everybody my diagnoses but her I find it important. I… am diagnosed bi polar, PTSD, anxiety disorder, i suffer from panic attacks, insomnia and ADD. I went on to explain how I just moved to Tennessee and have not been able to find a doctor and have been off my medication for three months. I left the office in tears and visually shaken. I was told that if I didn't here anything in a week to call them. Which I did exactly one week later. I was told my name was on the list but there were not any comments next to it. To give it a couple of days. I called back 3 days later and was told the same thing my names on the list but no comments. I then was told how sorry the receptionist was that these was happening could i please give her my info and she would give it to the doctor and would call me monday. I waited the whole next week and heard nothing from her or anyone in the office. Tomorrow it will be two weeks since the day i went into the office to feel this review form out. I was told today that they are very sorry but they will not be able to see me. And the receptions quickly told me she was sorry they give no more information as to why.

The woman that works the front desk is the literal most bitter and aged human being I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. You would think that his secretary couldn't sabotage his whole practice, but indeed she has. She fouls up all insurance records and receipts as well as appointment dates and times, she is toxic to any patient who comes into the office, and she has no tact or promptness whatsoever (or if she did, it left her body in the '60s).

I've been going to Dr. Liu for 5 years now, and am strongly considering firing his practice. The office staff is ossified and cannot be reached during normal business hours. The only way to get in touch with them is to leave a message with the answering service and wait for a callback after NBH. Any followup questions require another day's worth of phone tag. The waiting room is rarely full, yet I've never been seen in less than 30 minutes, and sometimes had to sit for over an hour. Since his practice operates on an 8-5 schedule, this can mean missing up to half a day of work.
