Dr. Nicholas M Brown, MD

Went for a colonoscopy at Cypress. Had multiple text messages and phone calls the 3 weeks prior to my appointment reminding me of time and prepayment. Went through the entire colonoscopy prep. At 4:30 pm the day prior to my appointment someone from his office called and said that I needed to come in an hour early due to a cancellation. I agreed and showed up an hour early. I was checked in and put in a freezing cold hallway. I had not eaten in two days and went through an aggressive colon cleanse. Not to mention my spouse taking off work to drive me. I waited for two hours (door to colonoscopy area is locked from the inside so you can’t communicate with staff) I finally left. At 2 hours and 15 mins past my scheduled time I got a call from staff asking if I planned on keeping my appointment. I explained all that had happened and she said, “so that’s a no?” I would not ever go back if at all possible. Horrible client care and service.

Doctor Brown is a very caring Doctor. He did my colon resection when colon cancer was found. He has an excellent bedside manner and had always listened to my concerns during my office visits. He also performed my Gastric Sleeve. His nurse, Nancy had always returned my calls in record time and is very kind and knowledgeable. I have had many surgeries and Dr. Brown is one of the best!! I would highly recommend him!!

This dr appeared very nice at my initial consult and explained everything to me. He explained that I needed surgery and that it would make me feel much better. I agreed to the procedure. It ended up on surgery day he had a completely different attitude. He showed up in his winter jacket and was very short and rude. He did the surgery, and didn't even look for my family post op to give them a report. It ends up the surgery was pretty much unnecessary, and he didn't find anything to "fix". I saw him post op still having a lot of issues, and he just bluntly said " well maybe you should consider pain management" . I would not recommend him to anyone!!!

Dr. Brown spent quite a bit of time with me, answered questions and addressed concerns. He had medical students with him at the original consult and at surgery, one of the students veritably worshipped Dr. Brown and I can see why. He is down to earth and easy-going with patients, which can be hard to find in a surgeon, they tend to be more engineer-like in mentality (if you've had any dealings with engineers, you know of what I speak), and he is patient in answering questions. I probably will never have a reason to see Dr. Brown again, but if anyone in my family needed services such as his, I would recommend him.

I feel that Dr. Brown does not listen to his patients. Well at least not with me. Brown didn't even look at me as a patient. Brown judged me and said I asked for all my surgeries. Who would want to volunteer their bodies to have surgeries ? Not me. I have had several emergency surgeries and it has caused a lot of scar tissue. I have been told I need to have scar tissue removed and Brown says I just need to go to a pain management Dr. I am sooo sick and tired of being on medicine and I tried to explain everything to Brown and he just doesn't listen. Brown did say he would do the scope but didn't want to. Well I will not allow this person to touch me. I want a Dr. I can trust and a Dr. that will really listen to me and hear me and someone that cares. Brown is not one I would allow him to work on my family. If my family was in his care I would do everything in my power to get another Dr. I did not even want to give Brown a star but ratings would not allow me to leave them blank. Browns… staff was awesome. Maybe he can learn a few things from his staff.....
