Dr. Nicholas James Cardinal, DO

This doctor is condescending, demeaning and patronizing. Before he even asked how I was feeling he subjected me to an arrogant lecture on proper use of the ER. I came to the western Reserve Hospital ER, his current location, directly from my PCP office who sent me to ER. He dismissed my symptoms as not worthy of the ER. (Sudden onset of high BP 178/110, shortness of breath, extreme pulsating headache and muscle weakness.) My husband said the Dr. directed conversation more to him than me. He has an ego problem and I left without getting fully tested because he was such a jerk. I think he is demeaning toward women in particular.

I came into the ER and explained to Dr. Cardinal that this was my daughters 3rd ER visit. We EXPLICITLY told him every symptom my daughter had including level 9 pain, vomiting, nausea, severe acute pain on her right side. I told him that this has been going on for 4 weeks. I told him my daughter keeps getting sent home from emergency and told to follow up with her PCP and her PCP keeps telling us to go to emergency since pain persists. I asked him why wouldn't they admit my child so she could see a specialist in rotation. He insulted my daughter by suggesting her pain was not severe and that "anyone could come in claiming pain looking for pain medication". He then insulted my intelligence by trying to explain to me in a very condescending way about emergency medicine. He was very arrogant and told us, that " if he didn't find any thing on imaging she is going home". After I told him my daughter has been cat scanned 3 times in a month to no avail. My daughter was so upset she didn't… want him as her Dr. I looked at her chart later that day, after taking her to another hospital and saw that he LIED ON HER MEDICAL CHART. He said that my daughter didn't present any acute pain symptoms and that she never indicated any symptoms like vomiting, diherrea, etc. She had been to the ER 2 other times and all of those symptoms are noted AND she explicitly told him she had accompanying symptoms that day. He had more in my grown daughters medical chart about me and him disagreeing and noted my demeanor as aggregious than he did about my daughters health.. Dr's lie about wanting patients to be participatory in their own health care until you have the good sense to question them or stand up for yourself then they develop God complexes. He lied because he was trying to cover himself because I told him I was filing a complaint. To lie on her chart is beyond despicable, its criminal. And he is a horrible human to lie in order to cover his bases but won't take the same symptoms he lied about into co sideration to admit my daughter, which was my ask....after our 3rd ER visit...while she was in lreported level 9 pain.
