Dr. Nicholas B Dechadenedes, MD

I am a parent who took my kids to this doctor many years ago. He was rude, short, demeaning, and uncaring. I could not leave out of those doors fast enough. To have a doctor talk to a parent in that manner in front of her children is an absolute disgrace. I am honestly surprised he is still in practice.

I took my two boys to see Dr D for 12 years until we moved. My boys loved him and I always trusted his opinion and judgement. He is direct and to the point and very knowledgeable and experienced. If you don’t like truthfulness and honesty then go see someone else. He won’t coddle your kid but gives sound advice and excellent medical care. Thank you Dr D for your wonderful care of my two boys.

He was terrible! My 3 month old daughter had a fever of 104.7 and it wasn’t dripping down with the help of Tylenol. We had taken her to the ER the night before and they told us to follow up the next day with her pediatrician. When we followed up with doctor Nick he was incredibly rude. Told us we were bad parents for taking our daughter to the ER and that no fever is too high and fevers don’t cause damage. We were told to never ever take our child to the doctor unless they had a bone sticking through skin. I was truly appalled at his bedside manner and we were so upset after being yelled at that we’re switching pediatric offices

I took my 3-year-old yo WCC this morning. She was shy at first since she’s pretty healthy and doesn’t see doctors often. After this doctor came in into the room, she jumped on me and wouldn’t let him check her. He grabbed her so hard right away, not even explaining to me or her what he will check and tried to make her calm bringing her legs together and grabbing her very harsh, of course the kid got more upset from a stranger trying to fight with her, and it made things a lot worse. She just screamed and I saw how mad his face was. He was biting his lips and not agreeing that he can not win my strong little girl. I tried to help, but it was very hard. I thought he will let her go, and try the other way, but instead he continued checking her lungs and heart, trying to hold her legs and head still. I was wondering how he can hear this well when she’s screaming so bad?!?! There was a moment when he grabbed her face, I was so scared and shocked!!! I didn’t expect this to happen, she now… has red spots all aroubd her eyes and it’s terrifying for both of us. I have four kids including a teenager and non of them received such medical care in all their years here. This doctor should not work with kids if they make him feel this way. Then I requested only one shot, he said he will do a combined shot that had 3 vaccines in there, I said no, just do one shot, one vaccine, please. He said ok! I don’t understand why he’s insisting so bad when people ask him about something? It’s been 1.5 hours after our appointment, but I’m still all shaking from what I saw and felt! This is a shame for the Providence who stating that their medical care represents healing of love through the ministry of Jesus. This is not what it is....

I can't believe this doctor is still in practice. I took all 3 of my children to him many years ago and was appalled at his rude remarks to me in front of my children. A pediatric office should be an atmosphere of care and concern, but did not see one ounce of that with this doctor or his office manager at the time. He talks down to you and seems like all he is interested in is getting you in and out and getting paid for his time. Avoid the doctor at all costs!.

He performed our oldest son's circumcision which developed adhesions and fusions (skin bridges). We had asked him multiples times about these over the years and have been told they would go away over time. Our son is nearly 5 and they have not resolved themselves and have begun causing him pain. After consulting with a specialist, we discovered they require corrective surgery! We are beyond angry that A) it was not done well, and B) he did not consider our concerns seriously in order to identify that there was a problem and take early measures to correct it. We should be able to rely on our doctors to identify and treat medical issues. I do not feel I can trust his professional opinion any longer. I hope no one else has to go through this.

I find it hard to believe that Dr. â??Nickâ?? deChadenedes is still practicing at Providence. The normal doctor I see wasnâ??t available so I opted to see Dr. Nick. He has the worst bedside matter that Iâ??ve witnessed. I took my 2.5 year old for a rash on her legs and right off the bat he started making offhand comments. I didnâ??t think much of it until the end of our appointment when he mentioned my daughter was behind on her vaccines. I told him that we opted to do an alternative schedule and thatâ??s when he told me that this â??wasnâ??t an alternative scheduleâ??. Umm Iâ??m pretty sure it is, Iâ??m following Dr. Searsâ?? schedule and have done my research. He then went on to tell me that my daughter was a risk to society and that she should not go to school or church. He also said that 10 patients at that clinic had transplants and that if my daughter gave them measles then they would die. I was beyond horrified and disgusted the way he spoke to my family. Itâ??s one thing if we… donâ??t see eye to eye on vaccines and if he was trying to educate us but this was outright shaming us. I told him that we would be going to another clinic and he didnâ??t seem to care one bit. As we were leaving he noticed my daughter was wearing a diaper and asked if we started potty training. We told him that my daughter is potty train 99% but we still have her in a diaper for outings just in case. Keep in mind, this was not a wellness check and he was way off base for bringing up the items that he did and speaking to us like second class citizens. Remind me why this â??doctorâ?? has a job again?

Doctor Nic was a total a-hole. Referred to me as "you medicaid people" in a derogatory way.

My son had been suffering from a chronic illness that seemed to ramp up severely on the weekend. I wanted to speak with the doctor on call to see if I should take my son in to urgent care to be seen and have another x-ray to evaluate the status of his condition. Dr. Dechadenedes was the doctor on call and told me "the after hours doctor is ONLY for NEW AND EMERGENT issues" and said he didn't have a computer in front of him to review my son's chart and had never seen my son (I usually see Dr. Gan or Dr. Suzuki), so basically I was wasting his time and should just take him in to the ER. If that's his level of patient care and concern, then I will be avoiding his patient care for my children!!!
