Dr. DeMonaco currently serves as the Chief of the Division of Hematology-Oncology and the co-chair of the Cancer Committee at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center. One of Dr. DeMonaco's primary interests is doctor-patient communication. During his fellowship, he participated in a dedicated program funded by the National Cancer Institute with the goal of helping oncologists-in-training improve their communication skills with patients who have a serious illness.

That's right, a customer getting bad service! Dr. Demonaco has a great demeanor. Nice guy. Interested in your problem, and ready to solve. I really liked the guy, but tired of waiting in the Exam Room w/o anyone to check on me. Waited 30 mins. alone.(5 times now) Could have been dead before they saw me. 4:00 appt. I just left and went home at 5:00. Will NEVER return!

My family and I are very thankful that Dr. Demonaco was the Physician on call a year ago at Southern MD. Hosp when our Mother was admitted. We were very impressed with him on day 1. He took the time to answer question after question and to explain every detail. I will recommend Dr. Demonaco to family and friends without hesitation. He is a very soft spoken man, which make one's visit very comforting. Don't fault him for the wait time.

His demeanor was quiet and soft spoken. He asked questions to get a clear understanding of my problem. He was reassuring. He explained the procedure of the group practice. I was comfortable with him. I felt he was thorough.
