Dr. Nicholas C Derobertis

I selected Dr. DeRobertis to facilitate and install a full upper arch implant and two lower molars (left and right) implants. When we initially spoke about the process, options and materials, I was told by Dr. DeRobertis that permanent implants were his recommendation for the upper arch restoration and the two lower molar implants. When we discussed the implant crowns and their materials, I was told by Dr. DeRobertis that I could have anything I wanted. I told him I wanted Porcelain or Zirconia and he agreed. Halfway through the process Dr. DeRobertis made reference that he had made a mistake, but that I should not worry about it because it was his fault. When it came time to have the lab make my upper arch, I was informed by Dr. DeRobertis that the only option I had was Porcelain Fused to Metal, which is a lower cost option versus Porcelain or Zirconia. Dr. DeRobertis was insistent that the Porcelain Fused to Metal was the way we were going leaving me no voice in the matter. The… two lower molars were to be Porcelain/Ceramic Implant Crowns. I voiced concerns about the upper arch materials because I read there was a real chance of ghosting lines which are grey outlines that often appear between the crown and gum with Porcelain Fused to Metal restorations. I asked Dr. DeRobertis this and he guaranteed that I would not have this problem. After installation of my upper arch there was immediate and noticeable ghosting lines in some of my front teeth. This was just the first of many problems I had with my procedure. For months and to this day I constantly bite the inside of my lower lip and cheek when chewing. The Porcelain Fused to Metal upper arch cracked and fell off from two crowns. The lower crowns were poorly fitted which caused the teeth in front of the crowns to move resulting in a root canal on the left side and a large cavity on the right side which caused me major discomfort and extra expenses. To add insult to injury, the two bottom crowns were supposed to be made of Porcelain/Ceramic, and it turns out they are both Porcelain Fused to Metal. I have made several attempts to have Dr. DeRobertis correct the deficiencies and defects that I have had with my restoration. I went back to have him fix the issues I was and am still having on many occasions with no corrective action that had any impact. This had gone on for so long that I asked him for a plan and timeline for correcting the issues and he got very angry with me and told me that was not going to happen. After this conversation, the communication between us abruptly stopped. I have reached out to Dr. DeRobertis multiple times to rectify the situation, and I have not received any response. I am taking the time to write this review because I don't want others to go through the experience I have had to go through.
