Dr. Nicholas James Lannen, MD

I saw him and he is knowledgeable, but when I was a pt, his medical assistant was going over my medications, and I could hear him yell and swear, in the next room. This gave me a bad taste in my mouth, and I will not be seeing him again. Very unprofessional.

Doctor Lannen was thorough with running test but when I asked what I should do concerning the test results I was told to consult my primary care doctor. I would have thought that since I have nerve issues the specialist would have given me more direction on my health.

Doctor addressed all my questions and recommended treatment plan was in line with my expectations.

Poor communication

He burst into the room like he was in a hurry and never even made eye contact with my husband or myself. He recommended I perform such generic issues that did not pertain to me. He said I should hydrate, start exercising daily, eat a healthy diet. Which if he looked at my chart I do all of these things already and have been documenting my health habits in a daily journal to help find a pattern to some of my health issues. Put me on a medication for pain which I was not experiencing any, and out the door he went! The P.A that I saw listened to me and was wonderful, she was the only reason I agreed to go on the medication. I don't know that he could have told me my name.

Dr Lannen does a complete exam on me to determine my MS impact on my physical abilities.

Good

I was told that another patient had shown up early, so there would be a delay in my appointment. I thought that it would be maybe 15 minutes, but I was in the exam room for over an hour before the doctor arrived. I do understand that doctors are busy, but I was a little surprised that Dr. Lannen didn't even apologize for such a lengthy wait time. I almost left because I had other commitments to make but I was afraid that I'd get charged for the visit!
