Dr Mast and his team are the BEST. After meeting with several surgeons I opted to have Dr Mast do my hip replacement and it was the best decision I could have made. I felt totally supported throughout the entire process – from initial consult to post surgery follow up. He and his team patiently answered ALL my questions so I knew exactly what to expect. I received incredible care at the surgery center and went home the same day. Since then, my recovery has been incredibly easy and pain free – I was walking unassisted within a week and back to almost all my activities within just a few weeks.

It is hard to imagine a better, more professional, competent, and caring physician. Just had my second hip replacement surgery with him and could not have had a better experience. His level of competence, professionalism, bedside manners and care are beyond anything I have experienced so far. I totally trust him and would recommend him to anybody who wants to have hip replacement surgery. Outstanding!

Had total hip replacement 4 months ago. Was in excruciating pain afterwards. Never saw the doctor after surgery while in the hospital,, only his PA's who could never help with the pain, as I am highly sensitive to anything with codeine and that was all I was offered. No one from the office ever contacted me after the surgery. When I contacted them to complain of my pain, I was brushed off. The PAs were both dismissive and defensive and unhelpful in all ways. When I saw the doc six weeks after surgery, he told me I wasn't progressing and to do vigorous physical therapy. Then at 12 weeks he told me my muscles were inflamed and wanted to give me a prednisone injection. After reading about the potential horror of those, I refused. His staff have continually given me conflicting information about what to do, which the doctor himself then contradicts when I see him. What a nightmare. I am now in constant pain, my leg is swollen (apparent *not* infected). But I've had it. … I'm seeking other opinions. Wish I had never done this. I was pretty well off previously. My hip pain only occasional and then just a twinge or two. Now I'm practically a cripple and cannot even drive. Awful experience in every way.

Affable and patient, good listener. After my x-ray was taken slightly askew, he was more than willing to await for the technologist to re-take them and consult with me again. It was a bit circuitous to schedule an appointment (usually having to leave voicemails for his assistant), but Dr Mast's consultation made it worth the effort.
