Dr. Nicholas Patellis, MD

Dr. Patellis has been taking care of my 80 + year old dad for 5 years. We love him. He always listens to my Dad prattle on even though Dr. Patellis has heard his stories before. As my Dad's condition is getting worse, Dr. Patellis is right there with us helping us adjust to his needs. My family trusts Dr. Patellis.

I have been a patient of Dr. Patellis for 8 years. I was suffering with many symptoms and had been to several doctors, none of them could figure out what was wrong with me. Dr. Patellis took the time to truly listen and he was typing while I was there, but I could tell he was thinking and figuring all my symptoms out. He indeed found out exactly what disease I have when other doctors could not figure it out! Since then, my husband, children and other family members have him as their doctor and he treats us ALL with respect, caring and he is the absolute smartest doctor I have ever known. I feel we are all blessed to have such a wonderful physician!

I read the low review ratings on Dr. Patellis and how the low ratings were for “not looking you in the eye, or smiling.” My goodness. He is LISTENING and THINKING about your treatment plan, options, and logging your discussion into your patient file to be accurate. My health has greatly improved over the years by his diagnoses and listening, not someone smiling at me or eye contact. He’s a highly intelligent professional and a credit to his craft. Recommended.

Wife and I were shunned by out last doctor when we were forced to be covered by Medicare. We found Dr Patellis 3 years ago and at first we did not like the fact that he would be entering information into his computer when he came into the examining room with us. He must have known that this was disconcerting to patients, because he initiated Patient Feedback Questionnaires. Soon afterward he began to be much more in tune with us during visits and didn't begin documenting visit info until we had completed talking about all the items we wanted to address (With no limit of time spent with us or any indication that he wanted to move to next patient). In these past 3 years his medical expertise has been evident and his patient interaction has become very good. I strongly recommend him and say that as the knowledgeable parent of two medical doctor sons.

Dr. Patellis is a very kind and professional doctor. He always looks for ways to help you but be honest also. The fact that he is serving our country in Iraq and taking care of our soldiers and made arrangements for our care until he returns makes me like him even more.

I rate dr. Patellis as excellent.

Some reviewers seem to be critical of Dr. Patellis' personality, more than evaluating his skills as a physician. I, frankly, prefer a doctor who is keeping up with cutting edge medical treatment, which is one of Dr. Patellis' strong points. He is very caring and personable when it is called for, however, every visit is not the occasion for chit chat. If you need Dr. Marcus Welby, MD, move on. If you want a skilled medical team in your corner, Dr. Patellis and his staff fill the bill very nicely.

Several reviewers have said Dr. Patellis doesn't listen. I emphatically disagree. It may look like he isn't listening, but that is because he is carefully putting everything of importance in his patient's computer record. I've had him ask me for updates on things we discussed a year before. He listens and gets it all. He also has a great sense of humor if you do.

I was Dr. Patellis's patient for a few years. I was not very happy with him because of his attitude. He never looks at you when he is talking to you and I do not think I ever saw him smile. Not a very cordial person and that's the reason why I decided to go to another doctor.

He is not cordial, never smiles, never looks you in the eye, in my particular case he has never examined me, he just asks questions. I am planning to change doctors.
