I wish we'd been able to get an appointment, but we were not. I called on Sept. 12 for an appt for my husband who has vertigo and is now having double vision! He was falling. Our doctor told my husband to go to an ophthalmologist asap. When I called Vistar Eye Center I was told that they had no openings until mid-February 2025! The woman that answered knew why I was calling and she didn't seem to care at all. She continued to speak with her "very happy voice". Then I called Eye Care & Surgery Ctr and when the staff said the first available was in Dec. 2024 and I told her what my husband was going through, she found him an appt. in 2 weeks! Now that's patient care and concern! I feel that Dr. Ramey at Vistar Eye Ctr needs to review his front desk (phone answering) staff with regards to scheduling.

Dr. Ramey and his staff members provided me with the most excellent care after I went through a horrible experience (to say the least) with a different provider. He and his staff members demonstrated the most sincere compassion and concern that I have ever experienced with medical professionals. Dr. Ramey actually cares about my situation and I completely trust him because of that.

Dr. Ramey performed a blepharoplasty on me & I have to say he did an amazing job. My eyelids were so hooded & droopy you could not see them at all. It impacted my vision as well. I had no pain associated with the surgery & I healed very quickly. My vision has greatly improved & everyone tells me I look 20 years younger! If you want a surgeon that knows what he is doing, Dr. Ramey is definitely the one! He is excellent!

He noticed changes that multiple other ophthalmologists had missed, diagnosed it promptly and treated appropriately. He and staff are compassionate and good at educating.

I’ve had three appointments with Dr. Ramey concerning an eye issue. He was very helpful, kind and professional . The staff at Vistar Center was courteous and polite.

I had MoHS cancer surgery ( at Carilion Riverside and Dr. Phillips) in an area right next to my eye and Dr . Ramey not only diagnosed the cancer .. he did my reconstruction surgery... From beginning to end of this endeavor Dr. Ramey was not only professional but friendly and caring as well... I feel so grateful I was referred to him and cannot recommend him Enough.

I went to Dr Ramey for congenial Ptosis (droopy eyelids). He was so friendly when he first walked in the room it was like help was your best friend and not just your doctor. Normally I'm scared to death to go to doctors but I want scared aroubd him. He puts your mind at ease as he explained my diagnosis and how the surgery procedure would go. He let me know what to expect. I went the other day for my 1 week follow up and he said the surgery went well but did to my muscles I'll probably have to have surgery again within the next 10-15 years. I hope he is still in the NRV area still and I can go back to him. DR. Ramey more than a doctor he's a caring friend. I highly recommend anyone considering eye surgery or had eye issues to seek his help.
