Trust His Judgement

I agree with the pt. who stated Dr. will listen to your symptoms and then send you to another dr. It's like he can't be bothered treating you unless you have a very simple c/o. You may be sent to 5-6 different drs for the same problem. His NP's are inexperienced esp. the female. Lacks communications skills along with nursing knowledge.

63 yr old family guy here with many years experience at Palos having had heart surgery more than 20 years ago. Back then they saved my life. I also had back surgery before that and started taking opiates 13 yrs ago and recently decided I had enough. I could deal with the back pain and had become heavily addicted to the pain meds. The withdrawals were horrendous and still not sleeping for WEEKS, body aches. I had my first appointment with Dr Rizzo this last week. He was totally dismissive and seemed like he didn’t care or wasn’t listening to me but I do know what I feel. I have received more help and support from family and friends regarding PWS and learned more about alleviating the symptoms from the internet than any doctor. I called and left a message with Dr Rizzo’s office the next day which was 3 days ago to just ask if they could help with sleeping and still haven’t heard back. The one medication they prescribed for heartburn was called into the wrong pharmacy and I don’t mean… the wrong Walgreens I mean a completely different place after I gave them the prescription to bottles as requested to my first (and last) appointment. Worse yet this is the third doctor from Palos I have seen regarding this. They want nothing to do with it and have not made ANY effort to help. Doesn’t make much sense to me. I do take full responsibility for my actions and am not blaming the doctors. I think they have a moral obligation to help me get off them and heal. If you are taking opiates and want to get off I cannot express enough how worth it it is. In spite of the agony and sleepless I feel so much better. It is truly worth it just research it throughly first and if you come here for help.... forget about it. I’m sure he isn’t a bad doctor but no help no call back and obviously doesn’t listen to the patient. I’m going to look for someone at least more sympathetic.

Doc is nice,friendly,and listens. He doesn't treat your symptoms but will send you to a different Dr. You could be sent to several different Drs. for every symptom/complaint. It's like he doesn't want to be bothered treating you, only seeing you and collecting payment.

When my husband went into the hospital for Knee Replacement surgery, Dr. Nicholas Rizzo was assigned as his Primary Care Physician because his current doctor wasn't on staff at Palos Hospital. Dr. Rizzo was so caring and thorough, after two hospitalizations for surgery and soon after for complications, we knew we had to continue seeing him going forward. He was compassionate, very detail oriented, as well as committed to his patients. Thanks, Dr. Rizzo.

THIS MAN IS SUCH A PATIENT FRIENDLY DOCTOR,HE GIVES THE BEST CARE AND ADVICE YOU COULD EVER WISH FOR IN A DOCTORS CARE ,U MAY GO IN SICK,BUT YOU WILL COME OUT FEELING ALOT BETTER AFTER YOU HEAR HIS JOKES OMG A GREAT GUY

Went to Dr. Rizzo for a clearance for knee surgery and after a second visit knew he was going to be my PCP if he had openings. When my husband passed away Dr, Rizzo sent a personal sympathy card even though he had never met nor treated my husband. His staff is equally friendly and personable. Nurse Candy is great also

Dr. Rizzo is a highly educated and experienced physician. He has a practical approach to keeping you healthy and goes beyond curing your afflictions. He is accessible, easy to talk to gives you all your options.

Dr. Rizzo was recommended to me by my Cardiologist. Dr. Rizzo is in that minority of doctors who truly are caring doctors. I lost my daughter a year ago and Dr. Rizzo suggested we go through grief therapy again and gave us a therapist who shared our ordeal. Very down to Earth, very thorough and explains any questions or concerns.
