Dr. Nicholas Theodotou

Dr. Theodotou was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. He became a US citizen in 2004. Dr. Theodotou has held teaching positions at dental schools in Australia and the United States. Educational Background He received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Sydney in 1985. From 1985 until 1988, he was a captain in the Royal Australian Army Dental Corps. Dr. Theodotou entered private practice in Sydney, as a general dentist, from 1989 until 1992. In 1992, Dr. Theodotou moved to the United Stated to attend the prosthodontic residency program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), from where he graduated in 1994. He then stayed on at UMKC where he completed a fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthetics in 1995, completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1996, as well as teaching part-time. Dr. Theodotou moved to Minneapolis Minnesota and practiced prosthodontics, and began further training in his areas of interest; oral surgery, dental …implants and anesthesia. In 2006, after 10 years in private practice, Dr. Theodotou decided to apply for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training. He was accepted, and attended the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He competed the program in 2011, and practiced around Pittsburgh, and in Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio. Personal Background At the beginning of 2014, Dr. Theodotou relocated to Savannah, Georgia. Savannah was like coming home. Savannah and his hometown of Sydney have many similarities. They are located 32° north or south of the equator, close to the coast and beaches, situated on a major river, and have very similar beginnings. His interests in oral surgery include dentoalveloar surgery, dental implants, anesthesia, bone grafts, and pathology. He is very unique in that he has vast experience with both the surgical and restorative aspects of dental implants. He has privileges at St. Joseph Candler Medical Center. He is married, with 3 children, and an Australian Blue Heeler. His other interests include golf and history.
