Dr. Nicholas Carmen Trotta, MD

30 years ago this Dr. Nicholas C Trotta performed an eye surgery called radial keratotomy on many patients. I was one of those patients. Dr. Trotta is an evil human being and take my word for it that he can not be trusted and is a despicable human being. Stay far far away from him.

Dr. Nicholas C Trotta use to perform very archaic radial kerotonomy on many patients. I'm one of those patients he suckered in to having it done based on his false assurances. He permanently destroyed my eye sight and then abondoned me after his dirty deed.

I am a Medical Assitant. I took my mother to this Doctor in the Union city location. Mind you, my mother is a spanish speaker, We went to the exam room and Dr Trotta started the eye exam. He posted a projection and asked my mother if she can see the letters and she said "I see it but it blurry", his nice medical assistant translates what mom said to him and he rudely answer "I only asked her to tell me of she sees, not if she sees blurry, that's something I figure it out". His medical assistant saw my face reaction and I clearly saw hers too, I noticed she felt embarrased. Then, why become a Doctor if you dont pay attention or let your patients tell you how the feel? very disappointed! We are not going back there. Mom kept saying he feels something is covering her left eye and he kept saying "She has nothing" Clearly Dr Trotta doesnt listen to his patient, 1st impression counts on this field, and I wont refer my patients to to him. Staff is really nice, the 2 ladies upfront were very… professional.

My scheduled appointment was for 1:30. When I got to the office, I was told Dr. Trotta just left for the day. It was 1:20. Under my advisement the receptionist called the doctor on his cell. When he answered the third time it was 1:23. After she got off the phone with him, she said he's already on the highway. I was outraged. I never heard of a doctor leaving before an appointment without any emergencies. The receptionist then said that he has a clinic that he also works at. I don't understand what this has to do with him not keeping his appointment. She then rescheduled my next appointment two days later at 11:00. I have wasted an entire day and now must take off another half day of work (at least.) I have since changed my ophthalmologist. Dr. Nicholas Trotta should definitely retire.

Worst doctor I have ever been to. Very rude, did not care about what I had to say, did not even let me speak. Was ready to leave the office when I arrived for my appt and rolled his eyes in front of me when receptionist told him he had one last appt for the day. I went for a stye he injected me with something and ever since I have a yellow bulge under my eyelid so I still have the stye plus a bulge on my eyelid. This man is very unproffesional and uncaring. People like this should not be doctors. It is a shame.

Worst doctor I ever visited! He didn't care about me ONE BIT. He just rushed through the exam and prescribed me some useless drops. I've had a sty in my upper eyelid for two months now, and it's starting to hurt and get HUGE! I tried warm compresses, tea bags, even someone else's eye cream; NOTHING helped! So when I went to see this guy, he just rubber stamped me! He wouldn't even listen to me! I told him that I did the warm compresses and tea bags for TWO MONTHS and it DIDN'T help, but he told me to do warm compresses ANYWAY!! He just wanted to get his two office visits in so that he could bill my insurance twice. At a $60.00 co-pay per visit, it gets VERY expensive very quickly! But this guy doesn't care! Hey, someone has to pay for his country club membership! He had the WORST bedside manner I have ever experienced. Very antagonistic. YOU are wrong, HE is right!! Steer clear of this guy. It's a complete waste of time to see him if you're a new patient and you need him to… treat you right away. He won't treat you until the second visit, he'll just prescribe drops and then will send you on your way for a follow-up visit next week. I've been doing the drops for a few days now, I might as well be putting plain water in my eyes, because they aren't doing one bit of good. The staff in the South Plainfield office is very professional and courteous though.

Dr. Trotta is one of the most kind, knowledgeable doctors I've ever met. I am a diabetic. Dr. Trotta has kept my eyes healthy for many years. I trust him completely. Thank You Dr. Trotta!!

Worst service ever. They gave us one service for $40 for eye exam. We asked before getting the service how much it was going to be because we know we had diductable we had to pay. Few weeks later, we receive notice from our insurance that they these people charged our insurance for $500! rediculuos. BTW, they didn't find any problem with the eyes. When talking to them they said that is the right bill they can't do anything about it and they didn't make mistake! I will be reporting them to BBB and any other review site I can to make people aware.
