Dr. Nicholas John Vogelzang, MD

Vogelzang has much fewer resources than universities when it comes to treating mesothelioma. And he doesn’t really understand or focus enough on the mind/body connection and the benefits of palliative care. If you have mesothelioma its much better to go elsewhere.

I was diagnosed with an aggressive prostate cancer in 2000. Surgery did not resolve the issue. It was then that I found my way to Dr. Vogelzang. I went through three years of hormones, chemo, radiation and a phase 3 study. I have been at an unmeasurable PSA with no meds for 15 years now. I am now 66 expanding my business and playing basketball three times a week. There are many Doctors who have either the medical side or the human/compassion side. Very few have both. Dr. Vogelzang has both in the highest order. I never felt rushed or like his concern was anything other then my wellbeing. As cancer patients know, a compassionate ear is priceless. Somehow he got me through to the other side fully functional and leading a normal life. My wife and I are forever grateful.

More than pleased with Dr. Vogelzang. We could not have asked for a better man for the job! He's an answer to our prayers!

WENT TO DR.V AND HE KNEW HOW TO CLEAR ME

Great doctor office is crazy busy. But worth the wait.

I was honored to meet & talk to him. I had a very rare form of cancer & he explained (in lay mans language)about my case.

Dr. V appears to be a very knowlegable physician in his field, however getting an appointment is a challenge. This is not because he has so many other patients, but because he's always gone away from his office to do some seminar elsewhere. Second is the "bedside" mannerism, from my own personal experience I would like to hear some words of encouragement every now and then during a visit, inside of his shooting straight from the hip, "you got cancer, you're gonna die" comments. And lastly, is the "ginea pig" approach where he wants you to sign up for a year round cancer study taking unknown substances, pills, etc. This study come with the accompanying of side effects,head-aches, diarrhea,nausea, and even death. All this done in the name of research.I feel that if I have a serious enough stage of cancer that warrants this, then this is fine. But, if I don't, and I am just doing a "post surgical" follow up, then "NO", I shouldn't be pressured into doing such. The staff personel are all… 5-star. They are friendly, courteous and caring.
