Dr. Nick Sonu Garg, MD

Dr. Garg is by far the worst mental health professional in the tri state area. Not only could he care less about his patients, he also risks lives by having the upper hand. Med management is a game for him and you either have to get on his good side or he will not provide you with what you need, resulting in health risks. If you love waiting 1+ hours to see him, then he’s your guy. He has never been on time for an appt, he has never even been close to being on time. Every appt I wait 1 hour in the waiting room and his “apology” is not sincere, because he just does it again the next time and his has the upper hand over you and your needs. Additionally, I have been cancelled on numerous times, including 3 times that he cancelled on me while I was already there, in his office. He mismanages my medication causing my body to go through a lot and making my mental health worse. He gives no advice and instead essentially jokes about your life. He has a huge ego, he is unreliable, and all he… cares about it money (which he only takes cash for whatever reason). Do not waste your time with this guy, he does not have your best interest in mind.

Dr. Nick Garg is a brilliant psychiatrist. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge of mental illness in treating your specific condition. When I came to him to treat my depression, he knew about the various manifestations of my illness and the variety of ways to treat the illness. He had diagnosed and successfully treated my depression in a way that no other psychiatrist could in the past 5 years! He is also personable and has a great sense of empathy and humanism. He takes time to understand you as a person; he is gifted in connecting with you and earning your trust. When i visited him, I felt him genuinely cared about my suffering and my life story. Most psychiatrists that I visited previously treated me as a statistic or some biological machine. But, Dr. Garg was in the truest sense a humanist. In my appointments, Dr. Garg showed himself to be a perceptive and knowledgeable psychiatrist who worked to heal me and to bring happiness and stability to my life. If you are… looking for a mental health professional who has a thorough understanding of psychiatry but also provides compassionate care, then look no further than Dr. Garg.

Dr. Garg is the without a doubt the worst mental health care "professional" I have ever met. Not only are his wait times *extremely* long (a fact that he expects you to just accept, regardless of the fact that we all have busy schedules), but he was completely dismissive of certain symptoms I brought up in my initial evaluation. After I disputed a cancellation fee, he brought up how he "technically" should have charged me for the appointment that I was supposed to have had weeks prior, but ended up leaving after being kept waiting for an hour. I have since found another psychologist who I am very happy working with. Upon mentioning to her that I had previously seen Nick Garg, she told me that she has met many other clients who have had bad experiences with him. Find literally anyone else if you care about your emotional and mental well being.

Dr. Garg makes you feel like your his only patient. He's wonderful and doesn't force you out of his office. The wait time might be somewhat long but you can bring a book. It's better than having your psychiatrist push you out the door because your hour is up. I swear he doesn't stop working. He is very accommodating and actually cares!

After getting a new insurance plan, I was looking for a Dr. that took my insurance. I called just about everyone in my insurance network, and the only one who called me back and/or had room was Delaware County Professional Services, which was a nightmare from begining to end. I discontinued their services and just kind of gave up until I got a call out of the blue from Dr. Garg. He said he had had issues with his answering service and just got my message. I was wary, but decided to meet with him anyway. Simply put, he is amazing. Kind, empathetic and so darned smart. My intake appointment ran over by an hour, and I was mortified, but he assured me that it was fine and he loved talking to me. Every appointment has been the same...you feel like he cares about you, your issues and is totally commited to your health. I've since referred a co-worker to him who absolutely loves him, and met another person who was treated by him who adores him as much as I do. Simply put, you would be… hard pressed to find another psychiatrist who cares about his clients the way he does. Dr. Garg changed the way I generally look at psychiatrists.
