Dr. Nick Nguyen graduated from the highly acclaimed Doctor of Dental Surgery Program at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), one of the top dental schools in the United States. He previously received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology and graduated Magna Cumme Laude from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He was awarded High Departmental Honors from the Department of Biology for his grades and his research work on the human genome with Dr. Winston Salser, the founding co-president of the biotech company, Amgen. Dr. Nguyen was also inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Society, the nation’s oldest Academic Honor Society.
Following his completion of the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at UCSF, Dr. Nguyen completed the core curriculum at the renown Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida. There he studied Advanced Dentistry and how to relate and preserve an individual’s Esthetics, Biology, and Occlusion …(bite). Dr. Nguyen is currently a faculty club member of the highly esteemed Spear Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he is continuously furthering his education. Dr. Nguyen visits the Spear Institute frequently where he visits as a faculty mentor to other dentists who desire to study advanced dentistry and related topics.
As a caring health care professional, Dr. Nguyen believes in comprehensive, interdisciplinary care for all his patients. He strives to be a very knowledgeable practitioner and develop good communication with his referring Specialists.
While at a seminar with the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, he fully realized how important a role a dentist plays in the interdisciplinary treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) because of the serious and even eventually deadly effects resulting from its comorbidities. Since then, he continues to study more about this disease, and in addition has implemented a Sleep Screening regimen for all of his patients. For people showing the possibility of needing further diagnosis and/or treatment for OSA, we are proud to have formed relationships with sleep physicians, neurologists, and pulmonologists so we are able to collaboratively determine treatment that best fits into our patients’ lives.
