Dr. Nick Spero Pomonis, DO

I am sharing my experience to warn others about the care provided by Dr. Nick Pomonis. As a patient with a disability, I rely on my home health provider who is with me 24/7. During my visit, Dr. Pomonis was consistently dismissive of her insights, despite her being the one who tracks my symptoms and vitals daily. Instead of addressing the specific concerns we came in for, he pressured me regarding age-related screenings I wasn't interested in, citing insurance company demands. He seemed more focused on "dollar signs" and pushing multiple new medications rather than listening to how I was actually feeling. Despite me being bundled in a wheelchair, he claimed I was overweight without actually weighing me, and he suggested I come in weekly, which is nearly impossible given my handicap. The most alarming part of the visit was when he claimed my oxygen level was dangerously low (83%) and sent me to the ER for a possible blood clot. He was incredibly rude when my caregiver asked for… clarification on what to expect at the ER. We went to a local ER instead, where a nurse quickly realized my oxygen reading was only low because my hands were ice cold—a symptom I had specifically mentioned to Dr. Pomonis. Once my hands warmed up, my oxygen was 97%. This oversight caused unnecessary fear, physical strain, and expense. To make matters worse, after we informed the office we were leaving the practice, he called my POA/sister and told her I could return only if my caregiver was not present. A doctor should value the bond between a patient and their caregiver. If you are looking for a physician who focuses on overall wellness and truly listens to the patient and their support system, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Dr Pomonis has been our doctor for 27 years! He is always "on point" with our medical issues and diagnosis! I highly recommend and respect his opinion.

He is good with my kids and really enjoy having him as our family Dr.

DR. Nick Pomonis at Orange Family Clinic has wonderful bedside manner that eases any apprehensions of finding and keeping an excellent family practitioner. He Will take the time to to get to know you and talk very commonly to any health concernes and treatment options best suited for you as an individual. Great for the wholefamily as he has treated my whole family ranging in ages of 16-43 for a few years. The staff from receptionist, manager and nurses are very professional and pleasant. Only thing I find is the waiting-but he is only 1 DR. and has made it as convienient as possible with option of walk in hours 9am to 11am (be prepared to spend 1-2 hrs if walk in 1st come 1st served) and/or calling in advance for you’re appointment date and time which usually takes 1/2 the time of a walk in. Overall our family is very pleased to have DR. Pomonis at Orange FAmily Clinic and great staff as our Reliable Family DR.

Dr. Pomonis is a sactimonious, egotistical, pompous windbag. You cannot talk to the man because you'd have to be just as condescending, and arrogant as him just for him to understand you. His office keeps horrible records, and it takes an act of Congress just to get medication authorized from his office to the pharmacy. He cannot remember anything about previous visits, and he certainly doesn't read his charts, as he keeps re-hashing issues that have already been addressed, previously. He likes to talk to patients like they're below him, and actually had the audacity to call me a "bad patient" because he can't keep up with prescribed treatments... On one visit, he actually recommended to me that I get a gastric sleeve for my weight loss, after only one visit about this issue. "Doctor" Pomonis also likes to pretend that he's a psychologist... he diagnosed me as "bi-polar" after only two five-minute visits, and reading a short-questionnaire that I filled out (10-20 questions.) Pomonis… doesn't listen when you speak to him, which is clear by his constant interjections, i.e. mmhmm, yea, sure, ok. Pomonis is in such a hurry to rush people in and out of his office, it's almost like he's going for kind of quota. Bottom line, I would recommend Jack Kevorkian as a physician before I would this guy. This guy isn't even cut out to be a Hollywood, made-for-television doctor.

Prescribes antipsychotics without diagnosis and/or does not obtain records from previous physicians.

I went to dr pomonis for a bad cough and the first thing he did was put me on antidepressants. He did blood work and said my thyroid was low, and put me on thyroid medication. I went back to his office to get a copy of the blood work results to see the thyroid numbers for myself'; my thyroid was no where near low. He is a poor excuse for a doctor. Save yourself the anguish and stay away.
