Dr. Nicky Nicky Kelepouris

As somebody with the misfortune of abusive and neglectful parents, I was ferried around to a variety of so-called "experts" for the sake of my parents absolving themselves of moral or ethical culpability in during my earlier years. Long story short, their prevalent emotional abuse led me to an extended bout of suffering from anorexia(85 lbs in 9th grade), which also stunted my growth. It was also determined that I had some sort of delayed bone development syndrome which was a beacon of hope for somebody who has always been self-conscious of height. I was promised by my pediatrician to reach an average-ish height of 5'10"(178cm), but my parents' unwavering body-shaming caused me to persist in my near-fatal starvation habits. Kelepouris confirmed that I had this condition, but then - perplexingly - whipped out her calculator and after having asked my parents' heights she averaged them out to 5'3.5", therefore "confirming" that I was exactly where I was "projected" to be. Firstly, it… doesn't exactly take a mathematician to deduct that the mean of 5'1" and 5'5" is 5'3.5". However, a lack of simple number skills is essentially irrelevant compared to the laughably inaccurate science. If every child ended up being smack-dab between their parents in height, every generation would shrink considerably - and our general popualce be exponentially shorter than we were, say 100 years ago. This blatantly and fundamentally flawed theory of hers is a mockery of legit science and medicine alike. As a kid, that devastating news brought me almost to the brink of suicide, and I retreated back to my unhealthy habits. As an adult, I am now 5'6" on my best of days, while my younger brother is 5'8"(and statistically, the older same-gender sibling is most often taller). Obviously, Kelepouris was just one bad actor in a long line of dominoes, but that doesn't excuse or justify her disgraceful malpractice.

I worked for Dr. Nicky Kelepouris at Mercy Fitzgerald many years ago she was amazing. I witnessed her help so many of her patients. Not only did she have her own practice but she helped the less fortunate in the Endocrinologist Clinic. At that time Fitz. had a variety of specialist see patients in the clinic anything from GI to Surgery and everything in between. Being a medical secretary in the clinic, I learned so much from Dr. Nicky and looked forward the days she saw patients in the clinic. Patients loved her as I am sure her present patients do as well.
